Beyond the new 'iPhone Xs,' what to expect from Apple's Sept. 12 'Gather round' special ev...
steveau said:Apple Watch: Clearly, the "leaked" image is disinformation. "Gather round" is signalling that the new A-Watch Series 4 will have a round face! And the gold in the announcement image means that it will be available in gold again (or a gold colour). This will be an incentive to upgrade, because it will visually differentiate from the older models. Unlike Series 1 versus Series 3, which are almost identical.
Mac Mini: Will be "Modular" meaning that it will be rackable or stackable in some way. Like a couple of MacMinis with a SuperDrive, a multi-Terabyte drive or two and an Airport Extreme one on top of the other, but with the same form factor and a clever way of connecting them. Notwithstanding the Xserve, a rack would be very non-Apple, so I expect something much more elegant than that. Better too than the RackMac MacMini product.
As for the Watch, I totally agree with you. A round Watch is the first thing I thought when I saw the invitation and the (supposedly) new face with all the complications that will fit perfectly on a round screen. I hope Apple releases a round Watch with better styling, a piece of tech that IS fine jewelry, not just one that plays at it. -
What are all the complications on the leaked Apple Watch 'Series 4' face?

I still have a Series 0 that I am quite pleased with. But I will switch this year. The S4 looks like nice upgrade.
That’s the first thing I thought too. A new round design would be a big surprise! Personally I’d love to see it. I think the Watch is pretty ugly. Looking back in ten years or so, the current design will make us groan. Timeless it is not. A glass and metal chiclet on the wrist. Bands looks small and anemic next to the lumpy watch. I’d love to see Apple deliver a round Watch with classy watch styling. -

I can appreciate why someone would love it. But not me. But I haven’t warmed to the Watch in general. I got a hand-me-down Watch from my dad. My mom gave it to him for Christmas and he didn’t get it. I wear it when exercising. Otherwise it sits on its charger. I dig it as a fitness tool, especially being able to plan workouts on my phone and then use the Watch to step me through them, record sets and reps, track rest time, etc. I’ve tried wearing it throughout the day and don’t find any of the other features or third party apps compelling enough. I haven’t worn a watch in over 20 years, though, so I’m a tough sell. -

Speaker manufacturer Leon shows its work for Apple Park's 367 'huddle rooms'

They claim to have been working on HomePod for many years. They could easily have chosen to use it. Deploying a HomePod based system on that scale would have been most impressive.
