  • Apple warning customers that App Store gift cards can't pay income taxes

What's amazing is people still fall for this.

  • iPad wins again, Google cancels upcoming tablet products

"A tablet from Google would be released why? Leave those to OEM's"

YOUR words. You didn't mention the hardware being crap just that Google should not be in the market.

Again, forget the quality, had it been financially successful and sold well you would have pretended it was better than iPad and passively suggested we all go buy one.

You even mention Fire tablets and how you know so many people that have them. Those are crap too. Even worse than the Slate but I won't see you mention Amazon leaving tablets to other OEMs.
The hardware wasn't crap. In fact, most reviewers agree it was pretty good. The software on the other hand is pretty bad. Couple that with an unworthy high price and it was a non starter for many including me. I had high hopes for it but, in the end, the iPad pro was a better choice.

  • Samsung asks Apple for compensation on missed OLED order minimums

The fact is that Samsung invested big on OLED with Android hopes that did not materialize.

They predicted that all the cheap Androids would rush to adopt OLED. They believed that once Apple started to use OLED everyone else would have to copy them. That simply didn’t happen. Samsung wasted billions building production capacity that was never used.

Whether Apple met their contractual obligations or not, the big problem for Samsung is that they made a massive error in predicting the wider market.
You know this for a fact or just guessing? I suspect the latter.

  • Samsung exec says Galaxy Fold finally 'ready to hit the market'

There are a lot of things I'd rather have for $1980. That price is obscene.

  • High-end users on 'Why I'm buying the new Mac Pro'

I was reading that the lack of Nvidia support is a deal breaker for some when it comes to the Mac Pro. I can't imagine that you couldn't build a comparable PC with Nvidia cards for less than the price of a Mac Pro. But then there's the OS. That matters for some. For others, it's the tools that matter.
Seems to me the operating system is a rather integral part of those "tools." Windows is still hot garbage. Undissmissamble auto-updates, orders of magnitudes more viruses (that are easier to contract), and just plain terrible (and inconsistent!) interface decisions all over the place force people that are just trying to get work done to deal with the OS. Tools matter indeed. I'll give you the Nvidia thing though, that's a major bummer.
I disagree. Plenty of pros have switched to Windows because of Nvidia support and that they felt Apple was ignoring the pro market. If Mac OS is superior, why didn't they stay? How many of them do you think will go back with the introduction of this new machine, still without Nvidia support? The OS matters least to them.
