  • Nintendo asking partner iPhone developers to avoid gouging gamers on in-app purchases

    gutengel said:
Well maybe Nintendo should lead by example. Many of the tittles they have on the App Store are solid and I wouldn't mind paying a premium for them, $20-$30. The real problem is that Nintendo requires a constant internet connection to be able to play. Meaning I can't play while I commute and they are alienating the iPod Touch user market (kids).
Not sure what the constant internet connection had to do with pricing but ok. And for kids, they have $60 2DS (which are like unbreakable wedges) along with $20 games. Fun, deep, console worthy games. Not some nonsense Drakamon knock-off stuff or something littered with IAP

  • The 10 best HomeKit lights, locks, thermostats, and more

I’ll have to try the iDebive smart plugs. Recently got two Weemo mini plugs and they were awful. Took nearly 2 hours to connect as the plugs wouldn’t recognize my WiFi and I need to jump through a ton of hoops. Finally got them to connect and lost connection on 1 within an hour, the other within the weekend. Went to reconnect and the couldn’t recognize my WiFi again! Returned them and I think i’ll give these iDevices a try instead.

  • The Galaxy Fold is Samsung's $1980 7.3-inch folding smartphone

$2k for a 7.3 inch screen? Lol...GTFO. It’s 17mm think when folded. That’s more than twice as think as the XS Max while only going up to 7.3 inches from 6.5. Way too thick for way to little screen real estate. No way I’d take that trade off. I know it’s just a start but I don’t see anyone outside tech bloggers or Samsung fanatics buying this.

  • 'iPad mini 5' CAD file suggests spec bump, no major new features

I’m actually cool with a spec bump only. Give me the latest processor, better reflective coating, longer battery life, 120 hz refresh and beat the starting price of the 2018 9.7 inch iPad (maybe start at $249) and I’m sold.

  • Apple's 2019 hardware roadmap calls for at least 11 new products

I’d be in on a new mini, Touch, iPhone & Apple Watch. Good with the rest. My wallet can only take so much.
