  • Eve Water Guard review: Thread makes this HomeKit sensor even better

I paid less for my Aqara camera hub plus one of their leak sensors than just this sensor costs, and I can run 100+ various sensors (most of which cost less than $30 each) from that one hub. Eve's stuff is great, but when it comes to sensors having more of them everywhere you need them is key, and you should be looking at the economy of the system as a whole rather than just the parts.
What is the reliability like with the Aqara devices?
I decided to go the cheap route with some of the sensors, smart switches and lights for my smart home set up and regretted it after a few months. I had the same thought as you that it would be better to get a few cheaper sensors so I could have more of them. But they started to regularly lose connection after a few months and would not respond very quickly even when they did have a good connection.
Rather than saving me money I just ended up wasting it on 2nd rate devices that I ended up needing to replace.
I don't have any experience with the Aqara brand but hopefully they are much better quality than the cheap devices I had initially.

I now have several Eve devices and my lights are all Hue devices. Wish I had gone down that route initially as the quality and user experience have been so much better and I would have saved myself a lot of money by not buying cheap crap originally.

  • Australian health firm says Apple Watch makes people 35% more active

Hopefully this will lead other health insurance providers to offer similar programs. I would love it if my provider offered something like this.

  • Second class action suit targets Powerbeats Pro battery life, charging issues

I got my PowerBeats Pro a couple of weeks after they were first released. Had to get the black pair as they hadn’t released any other colour options when they first came out.
Surprised to see so many other users have had issues with them charging or with Bluetooth connection. I have never had this issue. My wife got a pair about 2 years ago and has never had the issue either. Although she does always get confused which way around they need to go when putting them back in the charging case.  :D

  • New HomePod mini colors now available in Australia and New Zealand

We just had a blue and yellow HomePod mini arrive this afternoon. Kids are loving having them in their bedrooms.

  • Netflix Games service is now available on iPhone, iPad

    The games are pretty disappointing
That would be in line with most of the content Netflix produces these days.
