  • US AG Lynch says FBI not asking Apple to break into iPhone, simply disable 'password blocker'

"I think that there's some very interesting technical issues here, but this is bigger than a technical issue. In particular, when a company has been able to respond to government requests for help until their previous operating system, so they clearly have the ability to do it," Lynch said.

Clearly you don't have the ability to understand the problem so why should you be asked to answer it?

  • Inside Greater China: An exclusive look at Apple in Shenzhen

    Great article. As usual.

And regarding the metro, I live in Brussels, Belgium and haven't own a car for at least 3-4 years. I don't miss it. When needed, I'll use a Uber, other than that, metro, bus, tram, train, and public bikes.

I save hundreds and hundreds of %u20AC per year in taxes, gas, insurances, car repairs... But most of all, even with the punctual network problems, I overall save hours and hours of time not being stuck in traffic, not having to look for a parking spot (that you probably have to pay for), and on top of that, as my attention is not required to drive, I can work in the train, and reply to emails and other in the metro etc... So double time saved.

My conclusion? Thanks to that, not only do I diminish my expenses and get more time to do other things, even a metro trip can actually bring me money.

That being said, there is an issue that SF has we don't have: earthquakes... Building a metro in a high risk area is probably way more complex than in an area where in 32 years, we had pretty much 2 earthquakes over 5...

Regarding China, that metro may be new, but the stations have no artistic taste... Which I find a bit sad, coming from a city where an artist was commission for pretty much every metro station to make it special, and different from the other. Yes some are old and getting a bit dirty, but the sculpture in the middle of the main hall, the paintings and Rotherham graphic arts on some of the walls, and the music playing 24/7 (and adapting it's level when a metro comes in to override the noise disturbance of the machinery) make it for me quite enjoyable to use...
