  • Google is violating Apple's iPhone app privacy rules the same way Facebook did [u: disable...

Deja Vu from back when Google was caught stealing WiFi data using their mapping cars.   At the time, and even afterwards, they blamed it on a "rogue programmer"  (LOL...) but, strangely never deleted the millions of terabytes of data from their servers.

And, the same here:   they stopped using the scam -- but have not deleted any of the data collected by that scam.
How are you stealing Wifi Data?  They were scanning for Wifi sure, but not using your Data.  Your Wifi is normally Broadcast that it's out there and allows you to more easily connect to it with your password.  Google didn't have anyone's password to log in.  I don't see what the issue is.

What this Data IS used for is helping with better/faster location tracking.  GPS doesn't work everywhere.  Maybe you don't have a iPad with GPS which is any iPad without built-in Cell service support.  Using a Wifi Database, you can get an idea of where a person is at.  You with your cell phone on you are doing the SAME THING Google is doing.  You walk around or drive around and you iPhone is picking up the Wifi signals around you.  Most have Locks so you need a password to get on that Wifi.  But they are broadcasting that they are there.  This is what Google was scanning and collecting.  I don't see what the big deal over that is?  If you want you can actually turn that broadcasting feature of your Wifi router OFF.  Now your Network is not broadcasting that it's out there for everyone.  That is a security thing you could do.  Most people just leave it on, so you can see your own network and log-in easier.

How about Home Depot and Lowe’s
It did work at Home Depot and they killed it, but they said Apple Pay was going to come back. This was 2015 I think. Let me look that up. Yep,.. So what happened? https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-05-05/home-depot-to-become-largest-retailer-to-accept-apple-pay

  • US senators ask FTC to tackle rampant advertising in kids' apps for iPhone & other platfor...

I would rather buy a app and be done with it.  I hate in-app garbage and more often than not just flat out refuse to download the app.

Guess what? Parents should do the same!!! Refuse to download these apps and give a negative review of the app saying why.

Part if this is also Apples fault.  Why?  Because they really have no free demo option.  If you like it, pay and buy it easily!!!  Because of that, the so called freemium games have taken over.  Download, costs you nothing at first, but them its pay, pay, pay to play.  So in part, I think apple created the problem.  Just like they're now trying to get apps on a subscription plan do apple can get their 30% cut every month.

There's just a lot of apps I don't have because I refuse to play along or put up with it.   Those freemium games can get very expensive. The more in the game out get, the more us costs to get anywhere.  Don't download freemium games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Apple's powerful new Mac mini perfectly suits the 'Pro' market, yet the complaints have al...

I think prices went up to much for what you get. $799 for a i3, really? Great Apple finally updated the hardware and then jacked prices up. It should start at $599 at most for that i3. The Mac Mini was suppose to be a way to get a low cost Mac. Now it's a over priced thing. It was never meant to be a PRO type of thing. It's so far from that now with a weak i3 at a $799 starting price point. I don't get it.

  • Early iPhone XR reviews praise performance & battery life

Phone looks great, but saddened that they didn't put the optical zoom on it. It's being sold for $749, so it's the cheap version now, even though it's priced higher than the highest end iPhone 2 years ago, 3 years ago, etc. which all had optical zoom.
Optical Zoom requires 2 camera's. It's really only a 2x optical Zoom as there's only 2 camera's and 2 fixed lenses. You drop 1 camera and now the 2x optical zoom is gone. You still have Digital Zoom, though it's not really recommended to use as you lose detail and start to see pixels the more you zoom in that way. Better to physically walk forward or back to get the shot you want, so long as you don't do something dumb like walk off a cliff.
