  • Podcasts help Spotify eclipse Apple Music subscribers with 124M paid users

Big advantage of podcasts integration in Spotify is that they’re considered „music“ for mobile data providers (at least Vodafone) in my country (they don’t seem to care about any net neutrality at all). So, on LTE, it is actually cheaper to listen podcasts through Spotify, than Podcast app. Another big advantage of Spotify here in Czechia, is that it works with Amazon Echo devices. Apple Music refuses to connect stating that „it is not supported in your area“. But I pay the same as people in Vienna, less than 100 miles away, where it works flawlessly. Maybe these are some of the reasons why Spotify is more successful here in Europe. Anyway, I still use Apple Music, as it's the only service featuring decent Apple Watch app, which matters most for me.

  • Apple TV+ launches with original series and movies

It seems it is not for Apple ID (which I also have set up with a debit card), but for some additional verification - I do not understand it...

  • Apple TV+ launches with original series and movies

No luck for me either :( To be eligible for 1 year free, I need a CREDIT card. Which I do not have. And I do not want to have. It wonders me they had no problem accepting a debit card to pay for iPhone 11 a month ago. And numerous other Apple devices during last 10 years. They also have no problem accepting a debit card for iCloud, Apple Music, App Store and everything else. So why on Earth, do I need a different card to "verify hat the account holder has authorised viewing on the web"? And why the 1 year free offer does not appear in any of the AppleTV apps on all those devices at all, and I have to go through tv.apple.com to at least get the offer? I definitely will not pay for something others get for free. Shame on you, Apple, I'll stick with Netflix, Amazon Prime and HBO GO.

  • Bethesda opens 'The Elder Scrolls: Blades' for iOS up to some players in early access

Today morning, I was pleasantly surprised by auto-installed Blades and by 5.2 Watch update promising ECG here in Europe. But Blades keeps telling me they are "limiting access" and Health app explained me politely, that while it is possible to use ECG on my Watch in Europe, it is not possible in my part of Europe. So, big promises, no result :)

  • Tim Cook talks reveals plans for Prague Apple store in talk with Czech Prime Minister

I'm afraid it's more a PR of Mr. Babiš (vote for me/my party, I met with Mr. Cook and talked AI and Apple Store, I'm the best), not a real plan. I believe Mr. Cook meets with many politicians in Davos, but not all of them are so capable in exaggeration on social media platforms. Mr. Babiš leads a dispute with the City of Prague if to build new ministries buildings in a separate district somewhere in the fields. So he keeps telling stories about potential of those old buildings - hotels, apartments, now even an Apple Store! Apple has Czech online store, there are also many local retailers, it is no problem to buy any Apple product, including the officially unsupported ones (HomePod). I'd prefer to have ECG on my AppleWatch 4 or Siri in Czech language. Or AppleMusic on my Amazon Echo Show. Or a TV app on my Apple TV. Or a News app on iPad. Or - wait for it - Czech spellchecker in macOS (iOS has it since at least 2010). But, to be fair, ApplePay is promised to arrive in two months. So in my opinion, there are many more things important for customer satisfaction, than a store in capital city. It would be nice to have one, but it would be even better to have ECG on AW4. @Payeco: There's a really nice Apple museum in Prague, much better place to visit than some shady repair shop :) Most people you see in Prague are tourists, not locals. Majority of locals actually use Android phones. You should visit Brno or Olomouc - much more interesting astronomical clock than in Prague and more advanced Apple devices everywhere :)
