Review: Apple's late-2016 15" MacBook Pro with Touch Bar
This review is incredibly misleading. Take the disk performance tests for example:
Macbook Air has had USB 3.0 since 2012. So did you connect the drive via a slower USB 2.0 cable, or is this a misprint? What would happen if you plugged the same crappy USB 2.0 cable into the 2016 pro via a dongle? Same results?"In comparison, the same drive barely scored 23 MBps (184 Mbps) write and 14.1 MBps (113 Mbps) read results on a MacBook Air using standard USB 2.0."
MBA's also have Thunderbolt 2, basically TB3 with only one pipeline for 20Gbps theoretical xfer. Given that you chose to utilize inferior ports on the older model, how can you possibly say:That highlights how much difference the connection technology makes, in addition to the overall speed of the system.Zero credibility.

I don't begrudge you reviewing your free toy. But the story is written in such a way that only skateboarders will get anything out of it. -
Apple officially ditches headphone jack for Lightning, will include adapter in iPhone 7 box

I keep my phone charged while playing music on speakers at home, so it's topped off when I leave. Or play music on a sleep timer while charging bedside. Others (esp those using iPhone as a hearing assist) charge from a small USB battery while using earbuds.
Beyond that, I don't want to dick around with a dongle every time I want to hear music, and Bluetooth audio is still shit. Lightning also adds the potential for DRM lockdown.
I always regret reading the comments on this site. So much stoopid. -
Samsung's new Galaxy Note 7 largely incremental, except for iris scanner

Just last week I had to wait as some Android user try to go through all the steps to pull up his frequent buyer card and get the cashier to scan it then going through the steps to pay, it was an ordeal to say the least. Then I walk up popup apple wallet and scanned my card, then paid with my watch in a matter of a few seconds. People just do not really know how easy Apple made this process. People are still amazed how quickly I do things with the phone and watch.
