"Game Changing" is laughable. I have one from another brand that looks slightly smaller, but at 140w and 3 USB C ports, has PD 3.1 and came with travel adapters similar to this one, and for less than half the price.

Yes, you’re missing that it’s only $79, compared to the $129 of the 2nd gen. You get to choose, it’s not replacing the 2nd gen.

And they're getting this data from where? From the select few Apple employees who both have a iPhone 15 pro/pro max test unit and are also using this particular speed test service which I have never even heard of? So these tests were likely concentrated in very particular areas, and there may have been a grand total of 3 users using this particular speed test service. Why would any Apple employee even use "SpeedSmart" to test their phone?
I would not be surprised if the performance is actually better from last year, but this conclusion is extremely premature, unscientific, and a total conjecture.

Your headline and the first two sentences are FALSE. It's subscribers, not subscriptions. They likely have had several billion subscriptions for quite a while. This new milestone is stating that there are 1 Billion individual people who have at least one subscription of some kind through Apple. It's an important distinction and one that I'm not surprised AI got wrong in the freakin headline itself.
