  • Apple sues ex employee over iOS Journal app leaks

Will AI be in a position to testify against this guy?
    Why would they be?

Wall Street Journal, The Information, sure. But is an AI staffer named as one of the three journalists?

  • Beware of fake CleanMyMac installers that will infect your Mac

Funny that malware like CleanMyMac is complaining about malware.

I remove that garbage any time I see it.
Hey, at least it's not MacKeeper!

  • Apple's Presto in-box iPhone updater looks like a pizza oven

I wonder how long it is going to be until someone figures how to use this to hack your iPhone before you purchase it.
This would require the hacker to have access to the Presto hardware and all the documentation about how it works. If a hacker can obtain an iPhone before it's sold, there are far easier ways to hack it.
Imagine apple makes data transfer available via magsafe like those patents many years ago
MagSafe/Qi chargers operate in the region of 360KHz. Why would Apple try to funnel data through that interface when multi-Gbps Wi-Fi is right there?
Hardware and likely software - some of Apple's diagnostics have required a "server" on premises running a proprietary application. This likely has a similar requirement.

  • Apple's Butterfly keyboard repair program winds down soon

I'm not buying that a majority of owners didn't have problems with those horrible keyboards.  Some people just lived with it, but given the number of top case replacements I saw come through because of keyboards... nope, it was a problem for almost everybody.  Now, I'm not saying I didn't get a few users new batteries for free because the keyboard repair extension existed, but every one of those that I did the user was just living with at least one bad key because they weren't aware they could get it fixed for free.  If it hadn't existed I'd have put in a 3rd party battery, because buying a new top case just to change a battery is stupid.
I have many clients with butterfly keyboard machines. A few have had multiple keyboard's replaced, but most (and they are aware of the program) haven't had issues.

There have been quite a few where the cleaning procedure was successful and a replacement wasn't required.

  • Tim Cook sneaks in Apple Vision Pro promo while congratulating Porsche

I like that car but charging it or any EV inside of a garage attached to your house is a long term housing insurance problem. Cars that cost that much can't be parked outside for any length of time.
Don't believe the fossil fuel industry FUD. Adjusted for age (otherwise it can be 100x higher) an ICE car is 12x as likely to catch fire, and when an ICE vehicle catches fire it does so much quicker, with less warning so less chance to get away or call emergency services. A shorted out/overheating lithium battery fire starts slowly and can make a fair amount of smoke and noise well before flames appear.

Here's well regarded site produced by a member of the Austrialian Fire service targeting Firefighting professionals: https://www.evfiresafe.com/ . The home page has a link to a Fully Charged Podcast interview well worth watching.

    Their stats page includes this:

"Our intial research findings, based on global EV battery fires from 2010-2020, indicate a 0.0012% of a passenger electric vehicle battery catching fire.

While it's difficult to find a similar stat for internal combustion engine (ICE) passenger vehicles globally, a range of country-based reports we found suggest there is a 0.1% chance of an ICE vehicle catching fire."

    Edited to remove ambiguity.
