AppleCare+ moves to subscription-only model
Check with your local independent reseller (hi there!) AFAIK they can still offer the 2 and 3 year up front AC+. You can extend those with the subscription if you want.
AS @Jrobards pointed out the pre-paid has a lower cost than the subscription. 10-15% depending on the device and term.
@Dmskalnm - AC+ extends the manufacturers warranty and adds accidental damage coverage. Typically it's only usable for things beyond minor damage. It's like the warranty on your car plus collision insurance. -
Why Walmart still won't accept Apple Pay
22july2013 said:(As the article says) we've been using Apple Pay to purchase Walmart goods for five years... here in Canada. And I don't think it's limited to in-store purchases... I believe both their online website and their app for iOS (maybe even for Android) also both accept Apple Pay.
Since 90% of Walmart's products appear to be made in China, I presume China is putting pressure on Walmart to track their users so the Chinese Communist Party can purchase Walmart's user data. ;-)
Tap activated is all that's needed - ApplePay just works.
Walmart's main concern may be that they aren't covered if it's a stolen card which was tapped - no security (thanks banks) but the store will often still be liable. -
Nanoleaf's new lighting products include a floor lamp and new lightstrips
jeffharris said:Lights blinking to the music?
pass the bong, dooooooood…
The floor lamp looks nice. It would be great in a corner.
Does it work with HomeKit?
I made a Plug-in junction box with a Lutron Caseta switch and an outlet, so I could plug a bunch of lights into one switch.
One thing I really like about the Nanoleaf lights is the scenes run on the lights themself rather than on a controller like with some others (ZWave, Phillips iirc).
At least the subscription is optional and only for select effects. -
Apple Music celebrates Billie Eilish's record-breaking year
macgui said:I can't stand the affectation she employs as a singing style. That she was chosen to mumble the title song for No Time to Die was beyond disappointing. It's fortunate that it's easy to avoid her music.
