  • Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai signs multi-year Apple TV+ deal

There's absolutely nothing different about Apple's programming though... thematically or philosophically.  For every show on ATV+ there's an analog on the other major streaming services.  Apple has ever major category of content that can be found on any streaming service 'cept maybe anime, but I'd bet good money once the catalog starts to fill out that category will be there as well.  The only service that really is different is Disney+.  They really don't have adult/mature content.  They farm all of that out to Hulu.

The kind of customer that Apple wants is the kind willing to pay for a subscription.  Just like the others.  Their content is varied to appeal to a wide audience.  Just like the others.  To ascribe a deeper meaning to Apple's content choices doesn't really make sense.  They are buying from the same pool of content as all the others.
In Canada at least Disney+ just added Star. You need up update your profile to accept an MA rating before you can access the new shows.

Where? I know Ipad pro does w keyboard/cover

That has nothing to do with MagSafe.
No, but the smart connector on the iPad uses magnets to hold the keyboard in place and can provide power and data. That's more like Lightning than Magsafe on the iPhone 12 family.

Indeed, one immediate question is - will 2 magnets “play nice” together??  And with other things near the phone, like hotel room access cards for example, will they get erased?   As for getting rid of connector port and improving aesthetics - who looks at the bottom of their phone that much??   This new fascination with using magnets in iPhones lately is really amazing.
Mythbusters did an episode on magnets and magstripe cards. It was remarkably difficult to erase the card. On the order of a Rare Earth magnet passing by at 200+MPH.

Any idea on whether it will be M1 native?
Considering they updated Office 2019/365 with M1 support in December there is no reason to think otherwise.

  • Apple developing new terahertz radiation sensor tech for non-invasive glucose monitoring

"None of the four mention the word glucose, nor the words "blood sugar." However, they all propose systems using absorption spectroscopy, which is what all non-invasive system proposals use for glucose monitoring."

That may be a smart way to put the technology on the patent. By leaving it open ended they open up the options for other uses.

Blood Alcohol monitoring immediately springs to mind.

    Other toxins, including narcotics?

  • Apple speeds up masked Face ID by detecting an Apple Watch in iOS 14.5

razorpit said:I guess that could be a valid concern in a way. The beauty is you don't have to turn it on if you don't want. This makes it easier for those of us that live in nanny states that force us to wear a face diapers.
Nah! Nah! Nah! It's the $#!t coming out of your lungs that's forcing you to wear face diapers.

That, and concern for your fellow human beings.
