    I'd tend to think supply issues still linger.

    One weird sign: Go to the top 27" (8 core) and Apple says 3-4 weeks. Change RAM (because you aren't cheap  :D), change the CPU, Storage, still 3-4 weeks

    Change the GPU on the other hand. 1-2 weeks! The 5500XT seems to be the bottleneck on that model.

    That seems to be an Apple direct exclusive condition with their mix and match options. Independent resellers are only able to buy the watches with a strap in the box.

    Yes, but the idea is to be able to tap with your phone rather than using your card, or in the case of third party apps, having to use a QR code or some other non-NFC method for their app to work.

    Protection? Allowing another app to use NFC shouldn't affect security, although there may be privacy implications. You would still have a choice of which app you use.
