  • Apple Towson union accuses Apple of withholding new benefits

It is interesting to see how differently the unions work in the US to my country. Here the unions representative represent all employees - in and out of unions. Also if any troubles, people out of unions can reach out for help to the union representatives etc…

Apple could have just put selection toggle under Battery in those phones for the customer to give choice to turn on if they want slightly slower performance vs shut down of phone when battery degrade to a point and not replaced. Put small brief in IOS update.
Well, they did… probably later, after people started to complain. But as i remember for older phones/system versions i was always angry when the phone shut down at 30%, because the battery couldn’t handle the peak… so i was gratefull for this feature. But well, that’s me…

  • Appeals court rejects $310 million iPhone battery throttling settlement

Exactly 30 years ago I lived in the US for one year, and I compared the yellow pages in the US with the yellow pages in Canada. The two biggest sections of yellow pages in the US were Lawyers and Psychic services, while in Canada they were Pizza and Escort services.
This comment made my day 😁

  • Developers are abandoning Android apps, and users may be at risk

And same will happen to those forced ‘side app stores’ when developers see that not that many people as they thought are willing to use them and spend their money there

  • Mozilla rampages over a lack of browser choice

Used to use FireFox on my all windows computers and than on my MacBook Pro for years. Have seen the decline of once a great browser in quality, performance and efficiency department… switched than to Chrome, which was not that much better, but still better than FireFox. Maybe they should first ask users - why they don’t want to use it. For sure it is not that they cannot find it or download. At least Mac users get to some alternative sooner or later when some pages don’t work well for them in Safari.
