  • Google Chrome for Apple Silicon M1 Macs arriving on Wednesday

Good to see yet another developer releasing updated software for the M1. But why would anyone prefer Chrome over Safari? (<serious question)

I use Chrome for some websites that behave strangly in Safari... like one VOD service that in Safari activates random language version of subtitles without possibility to switch them off...  It works perfectly fine with Chrome, so easiest way as back up browser. Also when i need to access some websites/services that are not available in my region...

  • European advertisers critical of iOS 14 warning users about ad tracking

Being a consumer in EU - Advertisers never ask about tracking. They simply inform - we are tracking you. So my YES for Apple’s implementation. Let them complain... if they are complaining loud enough, someone from EU will take closer look on how they ignore the GDPR in general.

  • Developer says Apple rejected update for not forcing auto-billing on users

When i subscribe to the trial, i immediately go and cancel... the subscription period is running, just the auto renewal is not happening. It is bit user unfriendly, but i get the point of Apple

  • Apple uses WWDC to launch assaults on Google strongholds

Well, for smaller regions Google sadly still remains the best option. Apple tends to ignore almost everything outside of US... even of Google isn’t perfect, still offering at least something. At this moment Apple is simply not doing enough for us even if it earns so much money that to hire few more people to get the support wouldn’t be of such costs and could bring new revenues...

  • Compared: Apple Watch Series 5 versus Apple Watch Series 4

One thing was interesting in the keynote - very short mention, almost unnoticed. They said the GPS can now work underwater.... That was always my issue - with both my series 2 and series 4 - when outdoor swimming in the lake, i swim 200 meter, i get my swim style stated, i get my calories measured, but watch says i swim 10 meters... So I hope series 5 really handles it.
