IBM avoided a heavy EU antitrust fine for abusing their position in supercomputing by making major concessions and offering to redress past imbalances.
McDonald's was severely fined in at least one EU nation for tax avoidance.
These companies have adapted at least in part. IBM is recognizing unions in the EU. McDonald's is even doing "we're happy to work with unions" statements in EU. Apple spent 10 years against USB-C even after having signed a deal to make a common charger.
Until 2022 (just two years ago!), the EU common charger was supposed to be fucking MICRO USB.
