I don't know about that. Large companies can have a lot of inertia and refuse to change course even if they're headed toward doom. They're not immune to terrible decisions that ultimately put the whole company in jeopardy. Look at Blackberry or Nokia. Once market leaders but now footnotes in technological history.

If this covers only Intel modems, why isn't Qualcomm suing Intel? For that matter, why aren't they suing other phone makers? Surely Apple can't be the only company to use those modems. Heck, given Qualcomm's record of double-dipping, why aren't they suing both Apple and Intel?

Reminds me a little of the 3D gimmickry on the Fire Phone. This may prove as that did that fancy displays alone don't make a huge difference. It all comes down to ease of use, ecosystem, quality of hardware, etc.

Strange that there's no mention of Firefox. If there's one thing that keeps Chrome from becoming my primary browser, it's that it lacks options. I can and do customize Firefox like crazy, although I try to keep extensions to a minimum to prevent conflicts and bogging down the browser. Google wants to treat me like an idiot and offers very few preferences. I also hate how Chrome does some things, like never focusing on a new tab when I open a link in it with command-click.

So this is basically another example of what Jobs did to save Apple when he returned. Hire the right people, have vision and sweat the details. We miss you, Steve.
