  • Trump to meet with Foxconn chairman Terry Gou, report says

He has no fucking clue what he's doing, or what anything to do with governing involves. It's obvious because he says as much ALL THE TIME. Trump supporters love to say that libtard snowflakes or whatever are just sore but there's something to be said for holding your president to ANY degree of accountability whatsoever.
The only thing worse than his supporters falling for his lies in the first place is that even now, they still seem to be saying, "Hey, this Kool-aid tastes a little funky. Oh, well. Bottoms up!" (Yes, I know it's supposed to be Flavor-aid, but his supporters probably don't.)

  • Apple to halt royalty payments to Qualcomm until end of ongoing legal battle

But property taxes are based on the house. Not what's inside. Your house isn't worth for tax purposes the value of the land, house and furnishings added together. The Qualcomm chip is closer to a furnishing in the house than it is to the roof, pool or sq footage.
Now you get it! Qualcomm's argument would be that the house (phone) couldn't be built without the assets of Qualcomm as an integral part of it, much as the building on the land would be far less valuable and livable without the government-provided services that allow it to happily operate as a home. While neither argument might stand up to a major well-funded legal challenge they both have a fairly lengthy history of acceptable quid-pro-quo behind them.
You're still not getting it. If Qualcomm's tech is essential, then it's like plumbing. You can't charge more for the each piece of pipe, connector, valve, etc. into a $100,000,000 building compared with a $50,000 house. Yes, the quantity and total price will be higher, but the piece price should be the same.

  • Tonight: Join AppleInsider in New York City for a special Apple Pro discussion at Adorama

Adorama? No, thanks. They screwed me once back in the 80s when they only did photographic equipment and I swore I would never give them another penny. Yes, I hold grudges very well.

  • Apple to remove signature Fifth Avenue glass cube at cost of up to $2M

In fact I thought the NYC store is pretty blah overall.  Very dark, like being in a cave.

    They should redesign it.
There are actually nine stores in NYC. The others are above ground and brighter. Although I personally don't feel the Fifth Avenue location is very dark. No windows, sure, but plenty of lights.

  • Apple's efforts to boost in-house chip development amplifies risks to suppliers

Apple isn't abandoning fabricators. Apple is designing their own chips, but the company itself is fabless. They'll continue to need foundries for the foreseeable future.
