Apple says it's been losing money on its repair programs
maestro64 said:I can tell you what apple wrote is similar to my experience with them on very few repairs I dealt with. I took in my daughter phone to get the battery replaced after she had it replaced with a non apple battery. We attempted to get the $29 replacement deal they were offering, they did their test said it did not have an apple battery so it was not eligible for the $29 replacement, but they would be happy to replace it for the full cost since the Phone was long out of warranty and it was not a Apple Battery.
The biggest complaints I hear from people are mostly related to people who some how abused the phone (when challenged on this fact, they deny or say the phone should be able to take it). People think they can do want every them want to their expensive electronics and when it breaks the manufacturer should fix it at no cost to them. I know in the past Apple's policy was very liberal on repairs and people took advantage of this and Apple cracked down and now people are pissed. -
Logitech's Circle 2 is first cam to support Apple's HomeKit Secure Video
indiekiduk said:5 cameras? Unless they fixed it you could only live view max 2 Circle cameras in HomeKit (among many other issues).
Given Logitech offer 24 hours of free recordings it's a shame Apple didn't match that, the day summary feature was quite handy too wonder if you get to keep that. -
Tips, tricks, and customizations for your new AirPods Pro
After having use of my AirPods Pro for a day, I can say that they are a great improvement, at least for me, because of the ear tips. Still the rubber tips don't make a tight enough seal for my ears; I'm using large. I hope that a third party will make foam tips cause I have the best results using those with other canal buds. That said, the noise cancellation isn't perfect because my ears aren't sealed completely. But, it works good enough that I can't hear most background noises. Still, I would use my Sony WH-1000XM3 for airplane travel and underground transit. I don't get the rationale of removing the tap control and replacing with pinch. Possibility of dislodging the buds when pinching is greater vs tapping. Pinching is awkward to accomplish if you are on the move. The only negatives so far is I had an instance of the right pod losing connection after asking Siri to open my garage door. I couldn't get audio back until I removed the device in Bluetooth and set it up again. Also, it's difficult to remove the pods from the case cause I can't get a good grip with my fingers. They're too slippery. Finally, Siri voice response volume is so low, it's barely audible. Is there a way to raise the volume like on Apple Watch? Edit: Why are paragraphs removed every time I post? I see other posts with paragraphs. Am I doing something wrong? -
