24-inch iMac, iPad Pro, Apple TV 4K preorders begin
The website was quite flaky on my Mac and stuff would appear and disappear from the shopping bag.
I switched to the iPad Pro and got mine in about 10 minutes in.
12.9 WiFi, 256 - same as my existing one, which is already sold to a co-worker.
Any of you who are veterans (like me) or active duty can order through the Veterans/Military store and get a 10% discount. -
Smartmi P1 becomes newest air purifier with HomeKit support [U: Now available]
For those considering improving the air quality in their homes I would suggest they take a long and hard look at whole house solutions instead of these small and expensive products. They have a purpose but a system added to your HVAC can do a better job, is quieter, uses less electricity, is easily maintained or repaired by HVAC pros and in TCO will prove to cost less. They usually are placed in your attic or basement near the air handler of the Central HVAC system.
Buy a couple of these as discrete devices and for multiple places in the home and you have spent a lot of money and will be using a lot of electricity.
You can get HEPA grade filtration, UV light to neutralize VOCs and viruses, an HRV/ERV to keep your air fresh while recovering much of the conditioned air temperature and humidity and you will notice the difference. In humid climates like the Southeast or coastal areas an in line dehumidifier can greatly increase comfort and lighten the load on your Air Conditioner. In dryer climates (and cold climates in winter) a humidifier can make you more comfortable.
I would really like to see Apple reach out to the makers of these systems and integrate them into HomeKit. -
French regulator denies advertiser's plea to block Apple anti-tracking feature
How these digital stalkers think they have a right to anything belonging to others privacy is just brazen arrogance.
In my work - healthcare - we are governed under the HIPPA law and disclosure of information comes with a considerable fine and the possibility of jail time. These people steal far more sensitive information from you without your consent and then sell it to whomever they please for profit. -

Mac mini 'pink squares' graphical glitch fix on the way
I own a 16 GB BTO Mac Mini with Apple Silicon and there are some recurrent bugs I have not seen in my MacBook Air (Apple Silicon with the same specs) or my Intel Mac Mini running the same (current) version of the OS.
The boot cycle on the Apple Silicon mini is kind of slow, maybe that is due to the peripherals, IDK.
I also see the spinning beachball of death during extended web sessions with many windows having been opened that only gets right by force quitting Safari and reloading the collection of windows after reopening. My guess is that Safari is not clearing the cache out properly and running out of memory.
Finally, the most recent build is seeing strangeness with the Apple Magic Trackpad when connected by Bluetooth. Plug it in with a USB-Lightning connector and all returns to normal. Reboot and all returns to normal. Somehow I think that is not the trackpad but is a SW issue with the ARM build of Mac OS/Safari.
I have not seen any issues with the MBA running the same SOC and 16 GB.
