  • Sen. Franken asks Google to address concerns about Chromebooks, Google Apps collecting student data

This "Student Privacy Pledge" isn't legally binding, is it? I seriously doubt it. How can this organization go crying to the government to  enforce a nonbinding agreement?
I would HOPE it's legally binding, but not entirely certain where the law stands on it. Not that it would matter in this case as the Student Privacy Pledge group itself came out and said Google is absolutely following it's commitment and the EFF is off-base on this one.

These a--holes can say that, but my son was using his Google account to login to YouTube and started getting marketed YouTube videos with nudity so, um, I think they've got some problems on their hands.

Let me know when MS figures mobile out.

Surface Pro, MS Office Mobile including Outook app, Activesync, InTune / System Center as MDM are some examples on how MS knows mobile.

The Surface Pro has a great construction, and very good keyboard and stylus, excellent display (some reviews put it ahead of the iPP screen), can be used as a notebook, tablet or desktop (with the docking station) and it's capable of running desktop applications.  And that's a lackluster mobile product?  I know is not perfect (battery life comes to my mind), but it's a very capable mobile device.

I agree with you, the iPad Pro is just a large tablet with an optional stylus.  The Surface Pro is much more than that, and while it lacks mobile apps, there is no problem with the long list of available applications.  And that's an advantage over OS X and Macbooks (which are mobile devices too) and in some cases, even over iOS.

Active sync is the absolute WORST implantation of technology I have ever experienced. Who is this clown?

  • Core Apple manufacturer Foxconn sees December revenues down 20 percent

Of course we don't know what any of this means because we don't know Apple's production cycles, channel inventory etc. The question I have is if the March quarter is going to be brutal would Apple have to pre-warn about that? Or would they only have to warn if they were going to significantly miss December estimates?
Apple will provide guidance for the March quarter on the Q1 conference call this month- they only do so one quarter ahead. Their guidance has always been conservative and pretty accurate. I read some other story that analysts believe Apple is ntentionally pumping their guidance, but that's ridiculous! Apple tries to downplay unreasonable expectations always

Well Mr Sog35, how about buying a few shares of Apple stock and then putting down a motion of no confidence in Tim Cook and the BOD for discussion at the AGM.
Who knows, you might even get it passed. Ready to run the biggest company in the world then?
If not, just shut up and sell any Apple kit you own. You obviously don't like the company, the products, the management, just about everything to do with the company,

    I love the company.
They make the best products in the world.
    They make ridiculous profits.
But the stock has been an absolute piece of shit since Tim Cook took over.

I'm sorry but Tim Cook is just not elite CEO material.  The guy sounds like a clown and a wimp every time he tries to defend Apple. The guy has ZERO presence, ZERO authority. Wall Street pisses on his face constantly because they know he's spineless and he won't defend the company 99% of the time. Cook is a good COO, but a horrible CEO. That Wall Street still thinks Apple is only about the iPhone is shameful and sickening. And that falls DIRECTLY on the head of Cook.
The stock tanked in2008 with Jobs at the helm when analysts also believed iPhone sales saturated
