M4 Mac mini may have a USB-C connectivity problem
I'm not convinced it's a hardware specific issue. I'm having a similar problem with USB-A and USB-C devices on an older M1 MacBook Air.
I have had a very stable USB environment using an OWC Thunderbolt 4 Dock (11 port) since 2021. Then right after the latest MacOS 15 upgrade several of my UISB devices lost connectivity. After offloading my USB-A devices to an OWC Thunderbolt 3 mini Dock most came back up but the CyberPower UPS USB-A continues to lose connectivity intermittently.
So it looks like this is on Apple's software. -
Sonos CEO leaves company over botched iOS app
Don't know why.
The update was fine UNTIL THE FIRST TIME I LAUNCHED IT.
Then it DELETED my home, all my speakers, everything.
AND I HAD TO FACTORY RESET EVERY SINGLE SPEAKER to add them to the new app.
Even then EACH AND EVERY SPEAKER WAS AUTOMATICALLY ADDED TO A DIFFERENT ROOM NOT OF MY CHOOSING.
On second thought, firing is too good for him. -

How Apple's smart home revolution begins in 2025
OMG!! Don't get me started on HomeKit!!
If I set up an Automation or Shortcut that manages multiple HomeKit light bulbs and/or switches, and if someone accidentally flips off a power switch or if a device loses its WiFi connection, the Automation or Shortcut FAILS halfway through with NO EXPLANATION beyond "something wasn't responding".
Good luck figuring out which device it is. Apple hasn't addressed this OBVIOUS FLAW in all the years HomeKit has existed.
And don't get me started on Meross. If someone accidentally flips off a light switch, chances are 50/50 you'll need to factory reset the bulb to get it working again. AND their bulbs and outlet switches randomly lose their WiFi connections and, again, chances are 50/50 you'll have to factory reset the device. Worse, their bulbs are DYING after LESS THAN TWO YEARS.
Currently in process of switching everything to Wiz w/ Matter (and a few Leviton outlet dimmers) and considering other smart home controller options.
