  • Apple working on systems for 'high-end cars' at California 'auto testing center'

Well we will all have to wait and see, however, I think the Sunnyvale comment is probably closer to the truth. Apple is probable working on an electronic system for cars, to simplify the user interface so drivers are not distracted with all the control systems they need to deal with. If apple solve this problem then I can see people wanting their solution. Today cars are too complicated, they are cars not entertainment systems.

What auto makers are going to want a system from Apple if they know that system might also be in a competitors car? I doubt auto makers want to become Windows or Android OEMs. And how do you work on an electric system for cars without being deeply involved in the actual building of the vehicle? Unless they're just working on a better infotainment system. But I doubt that requires a team of 1,000 engineers.

  • Apple invention uses Apple Watch to auto adjust iPhone alert volume

Much as it is a nice-to-have feature, I am not sure it's patent-worthy, and I am even less sure that this qualifies for an AI headline.
Or the story about an Apple job application for a software engineer to work on watch faces/complications. Slow news week I guess.

When someone calls me I get a vibration on my wrist. What is this needed for? Of course I know just because Apple files for a patent on something doesn't mean we'll see it in a product.

  • Apple's Tim Cook, Eddy Cue attend Super Bowl 50 amid talks of NFL streaming deal

There's something about Eddy Cue that just rubs me the wrong way. Maybe it's the way he dresses or the way he presents himself on stage but he kind of comes off as an unserious clown. I guess it doesn't help that he runs the part of Apple that seems to encounter the most issues/bugs.
Something about you rubs me the wrong way. I am thankful Eddie is in charge instead of someone like you who does not have the skills to run an organization 1/100th the size of Apple. Yet you always have so much to say that is negative.
This line of argument always amuses me. So none of us can have opinions because we don't have the skills to do what Apple executives do? Or opinions are only valid if they're not negative?

It's been obvious for months now that you're hung up on Eddie Cue. He's clearly not the kind of guy you'd go out with, but I'm forced to wonder if you secretly wish you . . . oh, never mind.
Yes because I think of everyone on the executive team he's underperformed the most. And the two biggest things launched on his watch in the past 6 months or so are just barely rounding into 1.0 products. Apple Music was clearly beta when it launched even though Apple didn't launch it that way, and Apple TV launched without remote app or bluetooth keyboard support, without Siri support for Apple Music and without dictation. All of those are things that should have been there day one.
