There had better be more pretty soon for the higher end.  Apple can do better.  They are over confident - I wonder if the original talent and drive has some been lost.  They have to move fast because everyone wants a piece of their cheese.  They cannot tell us what they are doing - they must show it.   I don't care for the competing products, but they have not left the scene yet.

Recent articles all but confirmed that there were massive production issues with the iPhone X. Were the analysts played like a fiddle by Apple? Did the tech media actively try to scuttle the launch? Is Apple lying about demand? Apple’s guidance for Q1 is off the charts. If they’re lying about demand then they’re lying about their guidance and that would mean big trouble.

My personal opinion is that the tech media willingly bought into the ‘failure’ meme and were played like a fiddle by Apple.

I don't think Apple will make the only new iPhone $999 next year. That would be harsh.

I don't think the iPhone8 is selling bad because of the home button. I think its selling 'bad' because the front looks EXACTLY THE SAME as 4 years ago.  People want something new.  Personally I have the 6+ and I don't want to be looking at the same phone face for the next 2 years.  I don't need the best, but I do want something new.

IMO, Apple should make an iPhone 9 with smaller bezels AND touch ID.  Its not that hard.  Just shrink the bezels by 20-30% just like the iPad Pro. Even shrink the TouchID button a bit or enlongate it. That phone should sell for $699.
