  • iPhone XR is topping XS & XS Max in sales, says Apple's Greg Joswiak

I agree with physguy.  Come on folks. Apple is not going to let one of its execs make such a statement if it was misleading. They are quite meticulous about staying within SEC regs.  Cook himself has warned, over and over again, that people should not look at suppliers comments to draw conclusions.  The fact that the spokesman did not comment about suppliers forecasts is because Apple does not do that, except to warn everyone that this is an incorrect way to evaluate the companies performance.  At the same time, i am glad that the company issued the statement since the pundits have been out there preaching glooms and doom (especially with the XR) without any real credible evidence except the same sources that got it wrong every year.  My prdiction: it will be a blowout quarter, and all three phones will sell really well.  Anyone who uses Apple products and has experienced the phenonal performance of the X and XS Max (as Inhave) would be insane to not acknowledge how superior they are.  Hit the buy button and enjoy!  And by the way, this “analyst” game will never go away and next year, we’ll be back again watching the pundits and short sellers do their best to drive the stock down again.

Now, if only Apple would finally offer a REAL subscription serves that wraps together a bundle called Apple Media, which include a single monthly subscription charge for Apple Music, ITunes movies and TV, and Apple books, it would leveraging its huge cash stockpile to attract the billions of users in its ecosystem.

  • Why was iPhone X so successful at $999 despite a mountain of false reporting?

And by the way, does anyone who owns an iphoneX or Airpods, truly think that such marvelous, innovative tools are not going to sell well?  Lets face it, people love their gadgets, and these are two the best ever. Like every Apple gadget, they are more expensive but they work really well, and the customer service, particularly by phone is superb. In the end, quality wins out and by next fall the floodgates will open.

I also have the HomePod and love it despite some Siri flaws. And no one is selling me products i dont want.

These pundits and brokerage-related predictions are a poor reflection of just how bad some of the “media” have been about Apple. To me, just follow Buffet and Vanguard: buy the stock because you believe in the company.  If you want gamble, go to a casino or buy Amazon.  All i know is that next month i will get my quarterly dividend check while i enjoy my Apple products.  Where’s the dividend from Amazon, Google or Facebook?

Great reprt Daniel.  Its about time to call out these pundits, who really have no idea what they are doing. And Mark Gurman should know better.
, amd Nikee never gets it right.   So many of these reports manipulate the market price of the stock and produce unwarranted anxiety. Cook has always been clear: dont look at one or two reprts and draw major conclusions.  And the investment community itself, particularly Kate Huberty, really blew it.  Well, thats the proce we pay for listening to them, and helping them earn selling commissions.

  • Apple considers cheaper HomePod in face of lackluster sales

Here we go again.  Unrealistic expectations and a complete misunderstanding of what the HomePod really is.  It is a phenomenal music player and Siri does get most you ask. Does it need work? Yes.  Is it a great music device. Yes.  Is building the first iteration for Apple’s ecosystem only a terrible idea? No.  There are millions of folks out there who are part of that ecosystem (myself included) and absloutely love my Home Pod.  As i always say, if you don’t like the product, dont buy it. If you want a cheap Amazon Echo or Google home assistant this us pobably not the right product for you.  But if you want superior sound and a voice activated assistant that works pretty well, buy it.  Just like the warch, Apple will improve what it needs and the HomePod will be a star.  I wonder how many people writing these reviews now own an Apple watch?  I wonder how many own the iPhone X?  I wonder how many own Airpods?  All are are great, innovative devices.  Apple products are expensive, but you get what you pay for.

  • Surprise! Spotify now says its Weeknd debut beat out Apple Music

I have said this over abd over again: if Apple wants to make a killing in the medica business, all it has to do is set up a comprehensive monthly sunscription service for all of their media: Apple Music, itunes, IBooks.  The consumer would pay a monthly fee that would give them an overall discount on these products and allow them to access music, tv, movies and books for one flat fee. Just like Apple Music, you can use it all as long as you are a subscriber. Apple need not fight over money with the entetainers, publishers or corporate networks and studios: it can continue to pay thier fees, absorb the costs and it would be easily offet by millions of new subscribers.  Spotify, Amazon, and others would then have to compete financially, and in that arena Apple wins hands down.  Not a bad way to use a portion of the great tax windall they will be reaping.  And i say this as an investor and extensive user of Apple products.  Who in their right mind would not want get access to all of these products at a discount, especially Apple users.
