  • M3 MacBook Air review: The ideal Mac laptop for Intel hold-outs

I have the Early 2020 Intel i3 and am ready to make the upgrade. I use it for work, video editing and also DJ using Serato DJ Pro so some extra power will be welcome. Wondering anyone's thoughts on getting the M2 with upgraded RAM to 16gb or going with the M3 with the 8gb standard RAM.
I'd highly recommend not going with 8 GB. I thought that would be enough with the M1 Air model and I am constantly running out of memory and I only have four or five apps open at a time, granted I also like to have a lot of tabs open in Safari. My M1 Pro Max with 64 GB just screams and never seems to run out of memory.

$200 for 8 GB RAM upgrade lol... don't ever change Apple  :D
See you're thinking about it the wrong way, it's not an 8 GB RAM upgrade, it's just simply 16 GB of RAM. So you're paying $200 for 16 GB of RAM, not $200 for an additional 8. This is how the minds at Apple want you to think anyway  :D

  • Reports are spreading about a very specific Apple Vision Pro front glass crack

    This is not good.

Overall, it reeks of being a rushed product,  notwithstanding the very good initial reviews.
I guess the new narrative is that Apple rushes everything  to the market even when no one has a clue on their production schedule.

Fans of the 1950s Ben Hur rejoice.

    Both of them.

Just kidding.  Cinerama fans rejoice, too.

Wait.  Those are the same two people.

Well, there's a dozen or so movies this wide.   I'm sure there's a list of them.
Actually, Ben Hur was filmed in MGM Camera 65 but printed in 70.

A list of films shot in Ultra Panavision 70mm are as follows:
    1. How the West Was Won (1962)
    2. Mutiny on the Bounty (1962)
    3. It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World (1963)
    4. The Fall of the Roman Empire (1964)
    5. The Greatest Story Ever Told (1965)
    6. The Hallelujah Trail (1965)
    7. Battle of the Bulge (1965)
    8. Khartoum (1966)
    9. The Hateful Eight (2015)
    10. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016)

  • iPhone 14 users will get another year of Emergency SOS via Satellite for free

While extremely expensive to set up, I think a service like this should always be free to access. Maybe the governments should be funding it along with 9-1-1 and the like.
Here’s what’s wrong with people’s thought process on services.

While yes, I agree with you in that it should be government funded, and that it was externally expensive to set up but it is also very expensive to maintain

Services take infrastructure, systems, and teams of people. These things cost Apple millions of dollars a year to operate.

The buck doesn’t stop when Apple releases said services.
