Great write up! Takes me back to the days feeling like a boss using early SGI boxes

Interesting background - I have a little experience in this area and I don't think it's that unusual for successful shows to got through some degree of development torment before hitting production. All actors of Aniston's and Witherspoon's caliber typically give input and dig in if they don't like something about a potential production - their brand is on the line too if it comes off looking weak. Regarding authorship, it's often contentious - that's the nature of the game. I'll look forward to seeing morning show. As I've said before, I still don't understand how you can start a streaming service without other catalogs as Prime, Netflix and Hulu have in abundance.

Ditto - one of the reasons I bucked this cycle was because of the continued use of the awful lightning connector -great for Apple's bottom line through licensing and sales but crappy for the consumer.

Losing email is about as serious as it comes. I think Apple assumes that mass user input during the beta phase between WWDC and the new iPhone release (something like three months) will weed out bugs like this, but that assumes there's going to be a lot of input, I think that's optimistic to put it mildly. I tried installing an early beta of Catalina on a test Mac Mini box but it hosed it and I know of others who had similar problems. A colleague at work whose job it is to admini Macs and IOS devices ask me how can this happen with iOS13 and Catalina, surely they take the previous stable build source code and make incremental changes. That appears to be not how Apple's development process works at all for either the OS's nor core apps. Apple's software QA process clearly needs tweeking.
