The changes have become less onerous with new versions, but of course they're still there. I guess one of the reasons Facebook and other entities are still Objective C shops. Your point about documentation is well taken, and yes, StackOverflow will still be your friend.

First things first, and security should be at the top of the list. 

It's relatively easy to abuse, that's why Apple puts some effort (it's not exhaustive) to verify the company. It used to be even easier to abuse - until a couple of years ago, Enterprise-signed apps would simply work when installed, now you need to delve into settings to approve them. Some people will find a way to abuse trust.

This is great news for Roku, which owns this segment. For me, licensing AirPlay has been one of the more surprising and welcome developments from Apple, and i believe essentially means they've given up pushing their own niche streamer (reports of Apple TV being sold at or below cost are garbage unless you include R&D, in which case name your price).

Like many, I have Apple Enterprise credentials and they couldn't make it more clear that it's not intended for app distribution outside of a company. I'm astonished Facebook was doing this - time to get some grownups in to help run that company.
