  • Samsung's ARM-based Galaxy Book S lasts 23 hours, features touchscreen and LTE connectivit...

Small quibble with the article's title.  I think there should be an asterisk associated with that 23 hr battery claim.  I really think the 23 hr claim shouldn't even be mentioned in the title, but that's just me. It's a bit of theater by Samsung to promote battery life by looping a locally stored video.  As stated in the article, no wifi or celluar use.  Not really a basis to honestly claim 23 hrs.

Otherwise, I'm excited to see what improvements have been made for x86 on ARM.  If this thing garners good reviews and turns out to be viable, I might just pick one up around May 2020 when they will have likely depreciated by 40-50%

  • Samsung's new Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ arrive on Aug. 23

my favourite part about this is the whinging over the 3.5mm jack. samsung made it a point to poke fun at apple, now they are done with the jack. pointless poke i suppose.

and 6.3 and 6.8. if apple did that the tech world would bemoan the lack of size differentiation.  also, the price? will anyone go after them for it?
Headphone jack:  Samsung might not have been the first to remove the headphone jack.  They waited literal years until the tech was fully matured and then did the removal right.    - Excuse #214 - Fanboy Book of Excuses ← I'm being facetious, re-purposing and remixing the oft repeat phrase used by some Apple fans.

Current iPhone sizes:  XS- 5.8, XR- 6.1, and Max- 6.5
Current Sammy sizes  S10e- 5.8, S10- 6.1, and S10+ 6.4  upcoming Notes:  6.3 and 6.8.  That's a ~16% size difference measured on the diagonal (which is how screens are measured)

No one bemoans the size differentiation because from Apple or Samsung, it's not an issue.

  • At Samsung Unpacked, CEO Satya Nadella escalates Microsoft partnership

Microsoft and Google are competitors. It is strange Microsoft CEO shows up at an event mainly for Android devices. Maybe Apple is so strong that Microsoft hopes to bundle with Google to defeat Apple.
Or maybe MS understands that ubiquity in their product reach is better for their bottom line.  It's why they've also bolstered their relationship with Apple under Nadella.  MS is only trying to defeat Apple in some fanboy's wet dream... or a DED article. :D  :D  MS just wants their products available to everyone, everywhere, on every device. They aren't the Empire trying to defeat the Rebel Alliance.

When has Sammy gave a F about Google? This is about selfish Sammy not Google. They're scumbags and will stab everyone in the back if it means getting closer to being Apple.

I'd laugh my a$$ off it Samsung builds a strong relationship with Microsoft and pisses off Google.
When has Samsung not had a good relationship with Microsoft?  It's always been there.  How do you guys come up with these imaginary battles?  These are mega corporations doing business together to make money.  Samsung works with Google, Apple, and Microsoft... who works with Samsung, Google, and Apple... who works with Samsung, Microsoft and Google... who works with Samsung, Apple, and Microsoft.  They're competitors and companions.

Tossing a crappy version of office software on a free OS is a "strong relationship" to you? haha.

Again it's gonna be funny as Sammy dumps more of Googles crap.
Might be user error.  Office works fine for me regardless of OS.  Can't fathom your "Sammy dumps Google" logic.  Their relationship with MS existed even before Google came into existence.  They aren't dropping Android for Tizen and MS is out of mobile.  Unless you can provide some intelligible evidence, I'd rather discuss something within the realm of possibility.  So far all you've contributed to the conversation, and I'm paraphrasing here, is Samsung is crappy.  Google is crappy.  MS is crappy.

  • Apple to reportedly provide 'dev device' iPhones for bug hunting, introduce Mac bounty

...according to a report on Monday that also claims the company intends to institute an official bug bounty program for Mac in the coming weeks.

If this is true, I got 2 things.  1. Great   2. About goddamn time.
    #2 *******

Looks like Apple is finally getting serious about security.

Now they just need to find out what’s up with Cellebrite...
There’s a vulnerability (there) being exploited that’s unknown to Apple.  If someone knows it’s only a matter of time before criminals know.
I’d hardly conclude they’re only now finally getting serious about security. Compare the number of serious vulnerabilities in Windows to OS X over the years.
Pretty sure you knew the comment was about Apple's seemingly indifferent attitude regarding a bounty program for Mac OS vs it's early adoption of a program for iOS.  But hey, this was just another opportunity to point the finger "over there at somebody else" instead of honestly assessing what's in your own house.  We can't pass that up, amirite.

Apple is (hopefully, if the rumor is true) finally showing Mac's the concern it should have been showing when it first intro'd bounty programs.  Celebrate that instead of trying to kick dirt on others.
