  • AT&T CEO claims HBO will glean consumer data from Apple TV viewers

On one hand I find it completely insane that he would have the nerve to lie so blatantly, but on the other... what else could he possibly do? What an effin douche.
Why would you assume he's lying?  I'm guessing it's because you don't understand what Apple qualifies as personal information.
Apple defines personal information as: data that can be used to identify or contact a single person.  So they can easily say they aren't sharing personal information without being dishonest.  Apple never states they won't share non-personal information.  Non-personal data has a less stringent sharing parameters.  In fact Apple states: We also collect data in a form that does not, on its own, permit direct association with any specific individual. We may collect, use, transfer, and disclose non-personal information for any purpose.
Examples of non-personal information and some examples of how Apple uses it:  We may collect information such as occupation, language, zip code, area code, unique device identifier, referrer URL, location, and the time zone where an Apple product is used so that we can better understand customer behavior and improve our products, services, and advertising.

So he has no reason to lie because Apple is probably not sharing personal information with AT&T beyond what's necessary to manage the account.  But non-personal information like the type listed above?  Yeah, I bet they're getting some of that.

  • ITC judge recommends partial iPhone ban in Qualcomm patent fight

I find it mystifying how Qualcomm could think it’s good business to alienate millions of people. Right now, most people still have no idea who or what Qualcomm is. Make iPhones unavailable for even a short period of time and that will change overnight, and not in a good way.
But it doesn't matter.  It's not like millions of people are going to boycott them.  Qualcomm doesn't sell to the public.  It's not like other OEM's are going to stop using QC chips.  That ain't happening.  So I'm not really sure what repercussions you think would befall Qualcomm.
I don’t know, you’re probably right, but I think it’s foolish nonetheless— for example, it’s possible those other OEMs might not be quite so easy to bully if Qualcomm is widely viewed by the public as a sort of pariah.
I get the sentiment you're going for here.  It's just not realistic.  Business is business.  Whether or not Qualcomm has a bad public perception really doesn't mean anything from a business perspective.  Heck, if you want a perfect example of just how much a company's reputation doesn't affect it's business prospects, look no further than yesterday's announcement of an Apple credit card through Goldman Sachs.  GS is the poster child for being a pariah.  Yet, judging by the comments on multiple threads, appleinsder forum members really don't care that much.  GS is a much worse organization than Qualcomm could ever be, so I don't think QC would suffer any adverse effects from a bit of dislike from a small segment of the public.  Plus our collective attention spans are about as long an "amnesiatic: goldfish.  We'll be mad at something else in short order.

  • Beats' completely wireless 'Powerbeats Pro' exposed in iOS 12.2 update

Everything about these look good.  That matte black is super nice.  I generally don't like Beats, but it would be hard for me to deny these are visually bellissimo imo.  Good job.

Unrelated aside: "...different from the gum-dispenser style used by AirPods."
I've never heard the AirPod charging case described in this manner.  I thought it was universally reminiscent of a dental floss pack.  What gum dispenser looks like that?

  • Japan Display's financial woes aggravated by Apple LCD factory deal, OLED iPhone

If a company has to be continually bailed out, maybe that company should just be allowed to fail.  Japan Display just seems to be a case of throwing good money after bad.

  • Your Mac could wirelessly power keyboards and mice at a distance in the future

This is most likely the evolution of Energous' Watt Up tech licensed to Dialog Semi in conjunction with Apple's deal with Dialog.  The tech mentioned in the article is probably Energous's Mid Field Transmitter (transmits power up to 1 meter).
At 1:08 in the video, it directly references this tech in relation to computers.
