  • Apple Card outage stopping customers from paying bills [u]

I don't mean to generalize and it's probably a short lived glitch in the case of the card, but I tend to trust Apple's services less and less. iCloud is very messy for me with erratic syncing (drive, photos), needing several sign ins and outs on numerous devices; Music is crappy comparing with, say, Spotify, borderline offensive in recommendations and discovery; TV+ is mostly dull with original content seemingly committee based (more so than the competitors), like "let's be edgy, but at all cost inclusive and not offensive". The hardware is mostly still well behaved, so I'm still all in on that front, but I am actively eyeing the alternatives for the first time in several years, just to have a quick backup option. I now a have a second (Android) phone and am using duplicate services (contacts, calendar, notes, photos etc.). And for work, learning the alternative options that work on Windows (Premiere vs. Final Cut, Ableton vs. Logic). I love the idea of tight integration, Apple style, and until very recently I was exclusively Apple-everything. But lately I've been feeling uneasy with that approach. Always have a backup plan and a redundant second everything (romantic partners not strictly implied in that scheme).
Nope. Not experiencing any of the show stoppers you claim. And the rest of your screed is merely opinion. Oh, and yes, You DO mean to generalize. You just did.
complaining about someone else's opinion while giving your own not based on any real information is so ironic, keep it up.

  • How WeChat's ascent suggests the iPhone may never again dominate in China

How is this app that much different any app that has 'everything-and-the-kitchen-sink' built into them (like Facebook had they not broken Messenger out into a separate app)?

And why is WeChat so popular in China?  What's to prevent the latest and greatest chap app to come around in a year or two to knock it off its pertch?

Why so popular? Probably because the dictatorship wants it to be since it almost certainly has access to all data flowing through it. The Chinese people have no freedom of speech, no right to assemble to petition the government (think Tiananmen  Square), no right to a political opinion (unless it conforms to the dictatorship’s), no real religious freedom. Look what the dictatorship did to Tibet (a cultural genocide) and now the Uighurs (a physical and cultural genocide. Watch the latest PBS Frontline show). The Chinese people are only a half-step above the poor souls who were unfortunate enough to be born in North Korea.
I wish we had freedom from religion, freedom from guns, freedom from dummies, freedom from forums.

TenCent is a dangerous company. For the past year, I've encountered major issues with them because their widely used mail server is rejecting completely legitimate, user-requested emails.
Oh, and by the way, China is a dangerous country.
Yes they have a dictator just like us.

  • Foxconn's Wisconsin innovation centers remain unused one year later

If this is behind schedule, then that clearly has to do with Foxconn. Foxconn still says that they remain committed even though it is behind schedule. 2032 which is mentioned in the article is 12 years away. Get some perspective.

Trump has nothing to do with the actual operations or the building of the factory, obviously. He enabled the deal, it's up to Foxconn to do their part.

Sorry libs, and to all those who like to mention his name in the comments. Trump will get re-elected again, despite the best efforts of the desperate leftist media, such as the Verge, who have been running nonstop anti-Trump propaganda for a long time now. Their hard work will all be futile.
Sad, I'm a New Yorker, I know people personally that have done work for Trump and his family members they all got stiffed. We tried to warn you against voting for this lying used car salesman but you believed his lies, and bought his snake oil. Now we are all paying the price. A reality TV performer running or ruining our nation with the help of traitors like Moscow Mitch and the Evangelical nazis.

  • The best films about Apple to watch while stuck at home

Sorkin's movie was a great movie but can be enjoyed best when you leave your fantasy of who Jobs was at the door. A portrait is just that, an artist's interpretation of a real person and can be flattering to the subject or not. Everyone that reads AI has a defined option of Jobs and if we all combined those opinion it still would not be an accurate depiction of the person Jobs was. However Sorkin made a very well crafted movie about Apple's history and one of the men that founded it.

Yeh, it was a well done movie.   But it's depiction of Jobs did not not jive with any actual evidence I have seen.
If you didn't know Jobs personally or work at Apple during that years everything you consider evidence is hearsay. I avoid biographies in general because they are second hand information at best, I went to see this one because who was in it and who directed it. A complex character as Jobs was from all accounts could never be summed up in a couple of hours.
