  • Apple extends free repairs for first-gen Apple Watch back covers to three years

Too late.  I threw it out after warranty expired because the back cover came off again and again.  Won't be buying another one either. Waiting to see what Fitbit releases this fall - I was only interested in health and fitness anyway and dreaded the bulk of Apple Watch.
That was dumb.  Is fitbit still in business?

Just received a replacement Gen 1 after the watch battery expanded and popped the screen off the watch. They've extended the warranty for expanding battery issues for 3 years as well.
Watch 1 was a play toy and really useless.  When my iPhone becomes obsolete and I can do everything the phone does on an Apple Watch - I might buy another.  Btw that Watch 1 I threw away in the garbage was replaced by Apple  - as it fell apart - the "glue" is a problem in high humidity places.  I travel lots and can't afford to piss around with a device that is not dependable.  So back to a quality Swiss timepiece while deciding and waiting on the next Fitbit release - which looks great from the information available.  I don't need useless apps, talking watch - just time and fitness / health info.  Too bad Apple makes only 1 device model that try's to do everything ... but does not.  Before someone jumps on me - I am a big user of everything Apple has ever made - the Watch is the first product that was a fail for me.
Ha - good one! Bet you didn't even own one.

I still have a gen 1 and agreed the first watchOS was a work in progress, but subsequent OS updates have vastly improved usability and battery life.

  • Apple widening NVMe flash storage support in High Sierra possibly good news for Mac Pro, i...

Great. Apple should use standard connectors and ports, not soldered components that can be upgraded by users. And not charge 2 to 3 times more for the very same component like RAM. Check out that for new iMac on Apple Store and sites like Amazon (3 times more expensive on the former).
    Where's the down button...

  • Apple officially announces June 5 WWDC keynote via media invitations

How about an announcement that Apple will let users run OS X on HP Workstations since it is obvious nobody at One Infinite Loop cares about anything other than mobile devices and rental services.
Didn't Apple already announce there were MacPro and displays on it's way? What's your point?

They admitted they are over a year out, which tells us the cupboard is bare.
Apple could easily let mac OS run on HP Workstations that are up to spec. They do not have to do unlimited licensing and Workstation market users are not impressed with how thin or how whatever the design is. HP is selling Xeon class workstations with Nvidia 2GB RAM GPUs for less than stopped out Mac mini.

The keys to Hackintosh vs Macintosh is the EFI and I am sure H-P could adapt their designs quickly if they could get some extra sales.

Steve Jobs first job was at H-P and Woz worked there as well. This would let Apple concentrate on skinny underpowered laptops that are fashion statements and H-P can sell the more serious hardware for people who use their computers for more than Facebook.

I have a 2010 Mac Pro and am tired of waiting.
What was wrong with the 2013 Mac Pro then? I have one and it's doing me fine.

Tim Cook is desperately trying to invoke Steve Jobs out of his grave to return and save Apple again from corporatisis and eat the brains of their design dead.

Bravo! I wonder how long it took you to come up with that?
