Not a smart move. People can lost expensive item attached with tile tag and can't locate so get $1000 ?
not to sound all hand-wavey, but there’s an entire industry called "insurance" that has over a century of learning how to deal with fraud.

I wanted to stick a Tile on my bicycle, but I could never figure out a way to attach one beyond glue, and have very little faith in glue holding up during bad weather.

  • First Apple silicon Macs likely to be MacBook rebirth, iMac with custom GPU

The MacBook "plain" is also a currently vacant slot in Apple's lineup, although it could be argued that a new MacBook might cannibalize iPad sales to some degree. To this day I've never seen the old 12" MacBook in the field, whereas Airs and Pros are everywhere.
Hugely popular with Wall Street spreadsheet jockeys, “HR” types, journalists.

Back when they did the shift to Intel, the first machines were a 15” MacBook Pro and a Mac Mini, both developer favorites. I think the easier part of that transition was getting fast Pro hardware out the door, and the hard part getting all the consumer software needs aligned.

This time, the software side will be much easier because of their strict 64bit Cocoa transition, but the Pro hardware will take time to ramp up. Pity, I’m ready to get a new 16”…

  • Apple about to release seven iPads, eight 'Apple Watch Series 6' models

Seven new variations of iPad, and eight varieties of the "Apple Watch Series 6"
Why, for heavens sake!?! This goes right back to the pre-Job's-return 90's when Apple was pushing a bevy of differently configured Macs, losing money on all of them. Too many choices is not good for sales and blah blah blah
That's sort of an Apples and Oranges (pardon the pun) comparison, though. Even when Jobs cleaned up the lineup, there was still a bevy of SKUs for different screen sizes, different CPU/RAM configurations, etc.

The iPad as it exists today is pretty simple: a Mini consumer model, a normal consumer model, and a Pro model in two sizes. Whatever gets announced next month, that looks to be unchanged.

The Watch is pretty simple too: the new one in two sizes, and the old one in two sizes. "the old one" looks like it'll be replaced with "the affordable plastic one," otherwise no change.

Yes, there's a mess of SKUs because of the cellular option, but it's still a pretty simple lineup.

oh, here's a good guess: Apple Watch Lite*, replaces the Series 3 as the "cheap" one in the lineup; plastic case, drops ECG and blood-oxygen, starts from $199, two sizes, cellular and wifi models. Done.

    * yeah of course they'd never call it that
