  • Apple's iPhone 11 captures 68% of India's 'ultra-premium' smartphone market

So, in actual unit numbers that's something like 1000 units. Now Apple has added about .002% market share percentage with a total market share percentage of 2.2% in India. Apple is really killing it. The analysts will soon be praising Apple for barely scratching the Indian smartphone market. Apple is making some slight headway in India, but it's barely worth mentioning. Yes, Apple is only interested in gaining a tiny segment of market share in India and if they succeed, good for them. The news media will continue to tell about how Apple is being slaughtered in India by Android's 97.8% market share. Tim Cook will say how everything is going to plan and how it's better to have some market share than none at all.

  • Apple-sponsored 1979 Porsche 935 race car replica on sale for $499,000 [u]

I had always wondered why Apple never sponsored race cars considering all the money they had, but now I see that it did, once upon a time. Nice replica. What Apple car? I heard that Apple gave up the idea and decided to design AI auto software instead. I don't think Apple would stand a chance with an actual car. All the analysts keep claiming no other auto manufacturer can beat Tesla because of the entire Tesla ecosystem. If they think Tesla vehicles are locked-down, I'd hate to see how locked-down some Apple car would be. If a set of wheels for the Mac Pro is $700, I'd hate to see the cost of a set for an actual Apple car.

  • Apple's Mac Pro wheels cost $699, and the feet run $299

Unbelievable rip-off. It's as though Apple doesn't want anyone to buy those wheels. Even as an Apple shareholder, I think that's just asking too much for a relatively useless upgrade. I mean, it makes your Mac Pro go faster, but it doesn't make it faster where it matters. Sure, Apple donated millions of N95 masks but they're trying to make up for that donation by tightly squeezing their customers. No matter, I wouldn't buy those wheels as I'd use that money for some useful upgrade. Well, no one is being forced to buy those wheels, so Apple can charge whatever it wants. Those wheels will end up just like the HomePod. An over-priced product that almost no one will buy. For that amount of money, I could buy the latest bare-bones Intel NUC and enjoy using it.

  • U.S. census employees will trade paper forms for 500,000 iPhone 8 handsets this year

Oh darn, they're just leasing those iPhones. Maybe they'll offer them really cheap in the Apple refurbished store when they're returned. Nah... this is Apple we're talking about. As for the census, I received my form in the mail, filled it out in a couple of minutes and then mailed it in. There wasn't much to it and certainly no need to lie about any of the questions. I'm not sure why some people make a big deal out of it.

  • Apple partners with AR startup to become driving force in indoor navigation

    Japhey said:
I can’t wait for AR to help me navigate my local Starbucks. It’s so confusing in there.

In your attempt at sarcasm you just demonstrated how small you are thinking. This will be pretty helpful for places like malls.

Most malls have maps showing where you are and the stores you're looking for. It's not that confusing and likely a lot better for most consumers than spending hundreds of dollars for some Apple AR product. I'm a long-time Apple product user, but just trying to point out that most consumers aren't.
