Apple Maps vs Google Maps - smartphone mapping titans battle it out in 2020
I'm quite happy to see Apple trying to compete with Google Maps and Bing Maps. If Apple has the money and resources, then why not go after Google Maps and Bing Maps. Apple needs to show that it's not just a pushover of a company. I'd certainly like to know why Apple Maps on iOS doesn't carry over to Apple Maps on OSX. Is Apple saying that OSX users are less important than iOS users? It seems a bit unfair in my opinion. Apple still should get some Greenway markings for bicycle paths considering how Apple is always yapping about how green they are. I definitely want bike paths marked in green on Apple Maps just the same as Google Maps has and until that happens, I will continue to use Google Maps. -
Amazon maintains massive lead over Apple in US smart speaker market
Apple doesn't sell any speaker device in the price range of an Echo or discontinued Spot, so it would be very difficult for Apple to compete with Amazon in terms of market share percentage. I think Apple mainly sells products that are targeted to make profits. I could afford to purchase a couple of reduced-price HomePods, but I prefer not to have any dedicated listening devices in my home. I'd rather just have some regular AirPlay speakers without listening capabilities. -
Why did Apple buy up another $20B in stock at record highs?
While I'm not complaining about the share gains I have received from Apple since 2004, I'd just like to point out that Apple's dividends are only 1% and that seems rather low from a company always talking about cash neutrality. Even Microsoft is giving out higher dividends than Apple and has to give out about 3B more shares worth than Apple every quarter. If buying back shares are really helping shareholders, then that's fine but you look at Boeing and although it's struggling, that company gives out far higher dividends than cash-flow king Apple. I would think Apple could afford to give out a $1 a share in dividends than just $0.77. That would keep me flush every quarter as a senior citizen without having to touch my social security checkIf Apple doesn't want to give out a higher dividend then why don't they acquire a cloud computing business since Wall Street claims the CLOUD has unlimited growth potential and they endlessly praise every company that has a cloud service such as Alphabet, Microsoft, and Amazon. Those companies get such fat P/Es based on their cloud services while Apple only gets criticism about falling iPhone sales. -

Apple shares shrug off war threat as analysts scramble to raise their targets
"Apple's best days are behind it." When someone makes a statement like that, they're just being arrogant or maybe they're stupid. I can't tolerate know-it-alls. I doubt anyone knows the possibilities of the future. There are technical advances being made all the time, so any technical breakthrough can possibly change the world. When it comes to human nature, it's difficult to tell what consumers will consider some product a "must-have" product. Although I can't possibly imagine what that product will be from Apple, I just know the possibility exists. I have been using personal computers (Apple) for over forty years and there were times I thought it just wouldn't get any better, but eventually, things do get better. A lot better, from my experiences.A war may not hurt Apple's finances directly, but when you have greedy investors trying to protect their money, they will quickly grab all their money out of the market and Apple's share price will drop like an anvil.
