  • Tim Cook calls data collection 'surveillance' in blunt, forceful speech on 'data-industria...

I wish that the majority of US citizens felt the same way that Tim Cook does about privacy. Sadly, most do not. They'll give away their entire shopping history to Kroger to get a free turkey on Thanksgiving, or sell their soul to Facebook so they can "reconnect" with their high school classmates from a life they lived 30 years ago. It's absolutely pathetic how little you have to offer most people to get them to spill their guts and open up their private information to the data hoarders. A fidget spinner, maybe a t-shirt, free jokes from a smart (surveillance) speaker, a 10% off member-only coupon for a 30 pack of toilet paper?

    What's your price?
You're right. Most U.S. citizens don't care about what happens to their personal data. Even after a couple of data breaches hardly any Facebook user deleted their accounts. U.S. consumers are only interested in using social media services for FREE. Most are totally addicted to social media, so no matter what happens, they're not going to leave it. Can you imagine all those people you see with smartphones glued to their hands going cold turkey if they're suddenly deprived of their daily social fix. They're having so much fun with their virtual friends that they can't give them up.

Tim Cook is wasting his breath if the consumers themselves aren't going to fight for their own privacy. Tim Cook is only going to stand out as some crazy radical and create more enemies on Wall Street. Big investors positively love companies that siphon personal user data because they can turn that huge stack of personal data into huge stacks of gold. Every ad company in the world wants to get their hands on that data to constantly bombard internet users at every turn.

I'm a senior citizen and I have no interest at all in social media and if it completely disappeared tomorrow I wouldn't blink an eye. However, I'm in a very tiny minority. All the people around me are mostly smartphone zombies who walk across busy streets with their eyes glued on their smartphone notifications.  I like tech, but I'm definitely not obsessed with it.

  • It took Apple four days to sell initial iPhone XR supply

No, it doesn’t have a full 1080p screen. It has a 4K screen win 1080p video recording.
I suggest you look up the specs for iPhone XR:
6.1-inch LCD Retina Display; 1,792x828 pixels
    326 ppi

Your response is typical of an apple user who isn't educated on these things. Thinking it's a 4k screen just because the camera can record in 4k.

Apple not providing a quick charger in the box is another scam to make more money. Not using usb c is another scam to make more money on cable licensing it just goes on and on.
If a consumer buys an iPhone and is dissatisfied with the product, he can return the iPhone and get his money back with no questions asked. That's not fraud, cheating or a scam. Apple can lose out if consumers are not satisfied with what they're getting. The consumer has a choice and he can easily find out what comes in the box. Yes, Apple's products cost more than most but it's the consumer's choice to decide to buy an Apple product or not. I'm not sure where anyone can say it's a deception on Apple's part unless we're talking about the product's marketing hype which is done by all companies. All companies have a tendency to stretch or distort the truth when trying to sell their products.

The analysts and critics were so quick to point out how soft XR sales were on the first day. But, really what's the big rush? So, consumers take a few more days to pre-order or even a couple of weeks to get to the stores to buy the iPhone XR. Why are analysts and investors so quick to panic about what they consider poor or slow sales? Why can't these people give Apple time to develop some trend on sales to see if sales will pick up or fall off. Apple usually does well the holiday season, so why should this year be any different as long as the products are decent.

I doubt there will be any apologies by the analysts or critics for jumping the gun on their 'poor/soft iPhone XR sales' call.  Not that I or Apple gives a damn what the analysts have to say.  They're always jumping to quick conclusions and are often quite off the mark as to the whole Apple picture when it comes to sales.  If sales are lower and Apple makes it up in higher ASPs, I don't see a huge problem.  We all know the premium smartphone market is saturated and there isn't that much wiggle room for any company to keep increasing sales by double digit percentages.

  • Bearish analyst fears weak iPhone XS & iPhone XR sales, but still expects ASP to climb

Where is he getting these numbers from and whose expectations are they allegedly below?
One stinking day of pre-orders and they think they've spotted some trend. Idiots. A few analysts are basing their conclusions on iPhone availability. When they see that certain units aren't being sold out, they quickly assume that demand is poor instead of thinking Apple simply has more units in stock. These analysts can't seem to wait a week or two before making judgment calls. They figure iPhone sales always run like clockwork and aren't affected by any outside influences. They see that iPhone queues are shorter than maybe last year and so they say that consumers are no longer excited about the newest iPhones. I think they MIGHT be jumping to false conclusions to fit their own bearish agendas. This analyst uses the term 'weak' but 'weak' compared to what or to whose expectations? As a shareholder, I want to see actual figures and for that I need to wait for Apple's quarterly financial results.

  • Lack of iPhone XR delivery delays suggest softer launch demand than iPhone XS

You could believe this crap, or you know, wait for Apple to announce their earnings.
Wait for earnings?!! It's almost impossible to manipulate the stock at that point. It's better to just use the first day of sales to determine a sales trend. /s
