  • Apple's 2019 iPhone lineup may mark the end of the Lightning connector

Supply chain rumor equals groundless rumor. Take with a large grain of salt.

  • Apple stock hits all time high during WWDC as market cap flirts with $1 trillion

There's no real rush for Apple to hit the $1T mark. It's more important to make those shares outstanding decrease with aggressive buybacks. Wall Street believes Amazon deserves the honor more than Apple, so Amazon will get it. It really doesn't matter to long-term Apple shareholders. Amazon already has price targets of $2000 which will likely yield a PE of 450. Amazon shareholders are both lucky and smart.

  • Facebook's Sheryl Sandberg enters the ring in data privacy bout with Tim Cook

Sheryl Sandberg must be right. Each and every time, Zuckerberg walks away clean. Capitol Hill and the E.U. can't touch that guy. I don't believe Zuckerberg has anything to worry about. Big investors also feel the same way. Tim Cook's cry for the right to privacy has fallen on deaf ears. Facebook subscriber numbers are rising. Currently, Facebook is again outperforming Apple in terms of share gains even while privacy concerns are being tossed about. It's quite likely data-harvesting companies won't be fined or regulated because they're supporting the overall stock market with their high value. Cambridge Analytica is gone and the data-breach scandal is as good as forgotten.

Honestly, if consumers don't care anything about how their personal data is being used, why should anyone else make a big deal out of it? The most profitable companies are actively data-harvesting consumers. Consumers are their product and that's making those companies highly profitable. Consumers are an unlimited growth product. That's much more than can be said for iPhone sales. Apple is going to lose this privacy battle. The FBI hates Apple due to iPhone encryption which supposedly protects criminals and terrorists. No one is on Tim Cook's side. Wall Street will always side with data-harvesting companies because of their profitability. Morality has nothing to do with it. It's always about profitability. That's all that ever really matters.

  • Apple has a $250B 'window of opportunity' this 2018 iPhone upgrade cycle

As an Apple shareholder, I'm not counting on any "supercycle" in a totally saturated smartphone market. I'm somewhat annoyed that this "supercycle" nonsense keep being tossed around. All it does is try to lure greedy investors into buying Apple stock hoping for some huge payoff. I don't believe that's going to happen. Buy Apple stock for other reasons, such as a steadily growing customer base, more services in the future, a possible new product category or just for the dividends. If the "supercycle" idiots were wrong before, then they can easily be wrong again. Anyway, I'd hold off doing anything about Apple stock until after the WWDC event.

So, if a "supercycle" can only produce a $200 a share price target, I'm sure greedy investors will head on over to the FANG stocks because they're being promised much greater share gains than Apple shareholders are.  Heck, even scandal-laden Facebook is going to make better share gains than Apple.  I sure don't see most consumers paying $1000 for iPhones and only getting two years use out of them. I don't think Apple is that stupid. I'm sure Apple is only counting on slowly and steadily growing its user base. $1000 iPhones are just a whipped-cream topping.

  • Google's brand worth more than Apple's, if you believe this BrandZ survey

Ahh, who cares? Data-harvesting companies are the most profitable and most valuable companies on the planet. Wall Street loves big data and so do big investors. It's all free profits. The consumer is the product. There's an endless amount of product because humans breed rather quickly. Because Google can't be regulated, they're basically free to do whatever they want with consumers' personal data to turn those massive profits. So, if Google branding is worth more than Apple, it comes as no surprise. There are far more people on the planet that use Google services than Apple products, so maybe Google is that much more important to consumers. But in the end, what really does any of that matter. It's not like Apple is hurting by being in second place.
