'Apple Car' profits will quickly dwarf initial $3.6B Kia investment, analyst claims
A $3.6B investment doesn't seem like it would be a big deal for Apple. Apple just collected $14B for selling bonds, so the $3.6B amount should already be covered. Apple sure seems a bit frugal for such a wealthy company, but then again most of these numbers are beyond my comprehension to be judging Apple. I hope the car turns out well. I won't be able to afford one but I hope those that do enjoy it.

Apple's $111.4 billion quarter - which analysts were right and which were wrong
Stuff Apple's results down Goldman Sachs' Rod Hall's throat and let him digest them. It was kind of him to raise Apple's price target from $80 to $83. Investors will surely love that huge increase. It's strange how a company that makes $111B in revenue for a quarter is only worth a $3 increase in the share price. I'm very interested in what long-term stocks Rod Hall recommends to his clients that are superior to Apple. Maybe stocks like Roku and Spotify?Apple did pretty well for the holiday quarter although I'm sure many Apple shareholders aren't pleased with Apple's falling share price after the earnings report. That drop might be good for Apple to buy back more stock and get rid of plenty of outstanding shares. 17B outstanding shares is really a huge number. Too many, if you ask me. I wonder how that number of shares compares to other tech companies. I can only trust Apple knows what it's doing. -
Examining Apple's staggering $111.4B holiday quarter by the numbers
It's very fortunate Apple did as well as it did or loyal shareholders could have been looking at a $110 share price at this point. Apple's best quarter sort of slipped under the radar as far as big investors were concerned. I realize Apple is doing quite well and maybe had the strongest company during the whole pandemic period. Tesla was much more appreciated but that's because of Elon Musk who investors believe is an outright genius at practically everything he touches or even mentions. As the world's richest man, they may be right about that. Investors certainly have a lot of faith in Elon Musk and are just pouring money into the company at an astounding rate and they're all believing that Tesla will sell as many cars as it can produce and maybe more. Thanks to Tesla, EV cars certainly seem to be the future for the auto industry. I suppose that's a good thing.I believe plenty of investors don't care much for Tim Cook, but I think he's doing a very good job as Apple's CEO, but unfortunately, he doesn't come close to Elon Musk. I'm not sure how much more Tim Cook can do in order for big investors to take Apple seriously. I noticed that Apple's institutional ownership has grown very much and still sits slightly below 60% while Microsoft's institutional ownership is around 75%. I can't understand why there is such a huge difference. Apple doesn't seem all that risky of an investment. Anyway, Apple looks good going forward for 2021 and I hope investors realize Apple is a solid company, still capable of decent growth even if double-digit share gains aren't likely. -
There are 1B iPhones in use worldwide, Apple says
Only 1B iPhones in active use. That's just terrible. There must be at least 10B Android smartphones in active use and growing in number every day. At this rate, Apple will be out of business in five years. No wonder Rod Hall always downgrades Apple. He always says Apple doesn't sell enough iPhones to make Apple valuable enough for his standards. Oh, well. Whatever.../S/SI guess Apple hurt Samsung this quarter in smartphone sales. Samsung may have sold more but most of those smartphones are probably low- to mid-range smartphones. Apple must have raked in most of the cash, as usual. -
LG has reportedly halted LCD production for iPhone
So many flagship smartphones are using 120Hz displays but not Apple. I don't actually think 120Hz is necessary, but apparently many YouTubers are making a big deal out of it. I've asked a few people about their need for the faster display tech, but those who I asked didn't know anything about display refresh speed until I explained it to them. They didn't seem to care one way or another.
