  • Apple explains why Microsoft xCloud won't be coming to the iPhone

I'm not complaining but I wonder why Apple worries about things that no other companies worry about.  For other companies, it's all about providing users with what they want while Apple keeps trying to protect users while even the users don't even concern themselves about these things.  Other companies are just looking to make more revenue without such trivial concerns.  I think it's OK the way Apple operates but I think Apple is putting itself to a disadvantage.  This streaming stuff doesn't concern me at all.  I use a Playstation 4 and will likely get a Playstation 5 to play my games on.  I'm not much of a gaming person, so whatever Apple decides is fine with me.  I guess this is another one of the reasons why Android OS is on 85% of all mobile devices.  Apple isn't likely to gain any ground on the Android OS market share by protecting iOS users.  As an Apple shareholder, Apple can keep doing what it's doing as long as the share price keeps rising.  For that, I can easily put up with Apple's weird decisions.  I'm fairly certain Apple knows what it's doing even if I don't understand why Apple does what it does.

  • Apple's John Giannandrea talks Apple Silicon, moving from Google to Apple

Everyone else thinks that Cloud Services are better at everything because of their huge data storage size.  You can't fit trillions of bits of data on a personal device.  So, as long as you've got the time to wait, those cloud servers will sift through all that data and give you a perfect answer.  Almost no one likes the way Apple is doing AI and practically everyone claims Siri is the worst voice assistant around.  I don't know if it's true or not, I'm just going by what I hear.  The way I see it, the more a personal assistant knows about you and the things around you, the personal assistant will be more useful to you.  A personal assistant who is kept in the dark will not be very useful.  In that respect, Google and Amazon's voice assistants will always be better than what Apple has to offer.  Besides, almost no one cares about Google and Amazon sucking their personal data for use.  If people cared about such stuff, then Android wouldn't have an 85% mobile market share.  Data-sucking is just fair payment for the service people are getting.  Apple will never be praised for trying to protect user privacy and will always be thrown in with Google and Amazon as a data-sucking tech company whether it does it or not.

I don't use voice assistants, so I'm not the best person to talk about any of them.  I like typing in questions and that's the way I'll continue to get answers.

  • Warren Buffett's stake in Apple now worth $100 billion

Although for a long time Buffett said he really didn't understand tech and Apple, Berkshire Hathaway has certainly benefited from it since they decided to invest in Apple.  Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks.  Apple is probably one of the best investments Berkshire Hathaway has ever made.  And to think, a few years back, Carl Icahn had a chance to make a killing but he was in too much of a hurry and sold Apple before it really made huge returns for him.

Apple is by far the best investment I've ever made and I'll be holding it for as long as I can.

  • Apple mulled 40% take of subscription fees in 2011

Why stop at 40%?  Apple should have gone for 50% and see what would have happened.  Knowing how iPhone sales have slowed, Apple has to find a way to make up for that lost revenue even if they have to squeeze blood out of a stone.  Wall Street doesn't care how Apple makes money.  Big investors don't mind if Facebook and Google steal data from subscribers to sell, so what difference does it make if Apple finds ways to make a little more cash by upping commission fees.  Developers would either pay or decide to move to Android OS where they can do anything they want.  Does Google Play charge commissions or are the commissions much lower than Apple's App Store?

  • Apple's new subscription services may be off to a slower than expected start

Slower than expected growth by whom?  By Apple or some a-hole analyst?  Anyone can criticize but unless they offer some useful advice, they might as well just keep quiet.  I think I've only watched Amazing Stories series and it was OK, and Greyhound which I liked.  Other than those two things there weren't any other shows I was interested in.  I wish AppleTV+ had Japanese and Korean dramas which I could get into watching over the long-term.
