  • New photos show possible Lightning-equipped EarPods for Apple's 'iPhone 7'

Sweet. Sounds like "Apple supplier Cirrus Logic" manufactures the official EarPods for Apple? Or are they a supplier of another component, technically making them an Apple supplier, and seem to be making their own knock-off of headphones in anticipation of an iPhone without the 3.5mm jack?

Either way. This makes me feel better. More evidence Apple is moving away from 3.5mm; works for me. I'm in the Apple ecosystem.

I'd be very surprised and shocked if Apple:
    - didn't included lightning EarPods
    - or included the standard 3.5mm EarPods (because they didn't release any Lightning EarPods at all), and not include an adapter for lightning
    - or not include anything with the phone. Actually release lightning EarPods, but not include them or the 3.5mm EarPods, and also not include an adapter; and screwed people over by expecting them to buy either one

I use Apple's EarPods and Jaybird X2 bluetooth earphones. If Apple ships lightning EarPods with their phone, then I'm covered. For me, no real inconvenience or I'll need to buy an adapter if they don't include lightning EarPods. If there's a kool benefit for removing the 3.5mm port, freeing up internal space, then that sounds intriguing.

  • Inside iOS 10: Multilingual typing eases autocorrect woes

I went "yes!!!!!!" When I saw this in the Keynote.

i wrote to Apple, giving them feedback about making this exact feature. I wonder if they took that idea to heart or if they'd already had it in the works.
Either way. Fuck yeah. This will be so helpful between English and Spanish. I use both super often. Often times I'll start typing without noticing I'm in the wrong language until I'm a sentence and a half in.
It's pretty significant for me; more so than the iMessage stuff and fluff.

  • Apple airs Apple TV ad focusing on Siri voice control, Apple Music

Saw the commercial on YouTube, and had no idea who the guy was, had no idea who the girl was, didn't understand the references, and thought the ending was weird. I usually like Apple's commercials.

Everything went straight over my head. Can you tell I don't watch tv much at all?

  • ExxonMobil launches Apple Pay at the pump at 6,000 stations, only through in-app purchase

    Omgahd.

It's infuriating when reading "this is an elegant solution."  Geezus, these people are proving they don't grasp the intent of Apple Pay. It's as if they'd be happy if you had to spin around in a circle three times before paying with Apple Pay, as long as you're paying with Apple Pay, because the whole point is paying with Apple Pay no matter what and how.

    However:
    Apple Pay customer benefits:
    1) More convenient
    2) More security/privacy

If it's more steps than using a credit card, then you've defeated half the reason Apple Pay was invented.
Getting into an app, pointing the camera at a bar code somewhere on the pump station, entering the pump number.... really? I don't think anyone can effectively argue all this is more elegant than holding your phone over a reader with your thumb on Touch ID.

The peole that will ineffectively argue this app's elegance are ignorant to the reason why Apple Pay was invented.

  • Watch Republicans Marco Rubio & Ted Cruz side with FBI in Apple encryption debate

What scares me is the people that look up to these candidates in admiration and believe whatever they say. If the uninformed people don't know any better, they will agree. Those that are informed, instantly smell the BS they're spouting.
Ted Cruz says "we need the calls, texts, emails" to see who they talked to..... well the calls and texts can be obtained by the cellular service provider DUHHHHHHH. Invalid reason (email not sure about). Then he cleverly says "FBI didn't ask for a back door to all iPhones"; yes the FBI did not write those words in the request, yet that's the consequence of the request. Therefore, Cruz isn't lying but cleverly misleading.

Marco Rubio says Apple doesn't want to hurt their brand. That's one reason, yes, but it's not the whole truth. It'll hurt their "strong security" brand. It'll also undermine their customer's security and create a HUGE target for criminals who want to copy the "hack" method invented by Apple for that one phone; a giant bounty for that "hack" would mean SOMEBODY is bound to get their hands on that method and use it to exploit others' iPhones (China wants it, Russia wants it, black market hackers want it, list goes on and on). FBI can't even protect its own system from hackers and they guarantee the hack software's safety in their hands? Not likely.
Ben Carson just says broad, unspecific statements. "Terrorist are bad. I believe we should stop them, mmmkay"
