  • Apple customers to receive $400M iBooks settlement payments on Tuesday

I'm writing a check to Apple and sending it along with a letter stating that I cant, in good conscience, accept the money.  Not sure if they'll cash it, but it's just something I need to do and I hope you all do the same.  If Apple got enough checks and letters like this it would really send a great message.

You're looking for an argument where there isn't one.  I'm not the one claiming anything.  Move along, sir.
No, you made claims. False claims that show you imply Apple invented full disk encryption and that Google implemented it first. Both of which are wrong.

My advice is to adapt better reading skills without letting your emotions control what you post, because clearly you misunderstood my example, that contrasted how a cross-reference use of a technology would also be perfectly fine for a website that was detailing an Android feature that also referenced when Apple had added the features years earlier.
I see you're still looking for an argument when there wasn't one.  Fine, I'll bite.  When Apple introduced encryption in their phones there were tons of Fandroids pointing out that Android already offered encryption.  Apple's implementation was far superior and it's turned on by default but that didn't stop the Fandroids.  If you don't remember this then maybe it's your reading skills that are lacking.  I'm done getting trolled by you so feel free to respond so you can get the last word, but I'm not feeding you again on this matter.

Why mention that Google started using this data privacy technique first?  Why is it that everytime Apple innovates and implements new technology there's always  some stick in the mud that has to point that Google is already using it?
The reason is clearly stated in a single paragraph. Apple's own comments made it sound like they were going to be the first to incorporate it. While this may be true for an OS, it's not true in terms of shipping SW. This data is useful. It would be no different than, say, Android saying it has groundbreaking, full disk encryption, without mentioning that Apple incorporated it years ago. An objective and honest article would help alleviate any misconceptions before they can arise.
Full disk encryption.  Yet another innovation by Apple that the Fandroids had to point out that Google was using first...  I just get so tired of people taking the wind out of Apple's sails.

  • Apple led effort to remove rifle emoji from Unicode 9.0, report says

I'm glad to see that Apple takes guns and gun violence seriously.  Civilians have no business using rifle emojis.
