  • Apple's assembly partners applying for India's $6.6B manufacturing incentive program

India can be a great manufacturer country if they don’t setup so many roadblocks for foreign companies.

china was not much better in late 70’s. However they allowed foreign companies to invest with next to none restriction. Now, look at them. Of course they are evil and greedy. But at least they know how to set a trap properly. Now companies can’t get out without losing an arm and leg. Let’s face it, how many city/country are willing to build an airport just for Apple/Foxconn and setup a special tax region just to attract a company to setup a mega factory in your city.

India should just learn from China, for the sake of its people and the rest of the world. We all hate China.
Those roadblocks are really the signs of a functioning democracy, and make India a slow mover in these matters. But the benefits of being a loud, argumentative democracy outweigh these problems when seen on a larger canvas.

  • App Store policy and developer fee drama won't change Apple's ways at all

I think really the simple issue here is that 2020 is not 2008. Situations have changed on the ground as far the 'necessity' of the smartphone, the importance of ecosystems etc. I think apple will need to do something, before i gets to a point where they are forced to doing something that other people decide.

I would say apple will need to delineate the services they offer as part of the app store, and provide apps a chance to list on the store without paying for additional services like being promoted etc. (provided the apps follow app security guidelines ofcourse).

Good news! Soon we can stop the insanity of going to a gas station once or twice a week! :)

How often will we have to pay to charge at charging stations, rather than just charging after use at home?
If they start hitting the 500-600miles range on a single charge, I figure it would be only required for inter-state road trips. That would be pretty rare.

Slack is anyway dying, slowly being killed by microsoft teams. Microsoft has overtaken them in 2 yrs flat.

Guess this is the nearest we will see apple kind of accepting that the butterfly was a flawed design. Going back to the old working design with very minor changes. They probably can't talk more about the reason for dumping butterfly and going back for fear of litigation.
