  • Apple, Epic Games experts debate whether iOS gamers switch to other platforms

So I had an original PlayStation. Then a PS2. Then an original Xbox when that launched. Know what I've never bought since? A PlayStation. no PS3, PS4, PS5.

I have bought an Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox Series X

So shouldn't Epic also be suing Microsoft? I can't sideload their games on my Xbox. I'm far more locked in to Xbox than Apple, even though I've been using and buying Apple products since 1983....

  • Epic Games witnesses criticize App Store anti-steering provisions

Apologies for my ignorance. But this quote, “He added that the solution wouldn't be possible for apps that don't have a website or web version, or for consumers without easy access to a computer.”

    1. if an app doesn’t haves website or web version, how would they offer the ability to purchase said in game currency on a non existing website?
    2. He does realize that both the iPhone and iPad have a web browser available, right? In fact, they have many. So this is also not an issue.

  • Nintendo's 'Super Mario Run' vanishes from iOS App Store [u]

“The title is basically a for-pay game that includes a few sample levels to whet player palates.”

I have a more sinister view. As a $9.99 game it would allow a family of 6 to all have the complete game for $9.99. As an IAP? That same family pays $59.94

  • Case manufacturer says Apple likely to ditch Touch ID in 'iPhone 8'

I’d think that the case makers at this point would know if Touch ID was in the sleep/wake button. They wouldn’t want to cover it if it is.

And why in the world would Apple include the Touch ID hardware and not enable it?

  • How to identify all the 32-bit apps installed on your iPhone running iOS 10.3

Well, I have an iPhone 5 (yes I am ancient) and when I check on apps that "might slow down my iPhone" it lists out every app I have installed, including Keynote, TestFlight, iAD, App Store (yes), Apple Store,  Calculator, Camera, Compass, FaceTime etc. There are more, I just got sick of listing each one out.

The funny part is, all these apps were just updated yesterday before installing 10.3.  And there are no updates available for these after the upgrade.

In addition to these, I have quite a few Apple services that are "incompatible", liked AccountAuthenticationDialog, AACredentialRecoryDialog, AskPermissionUI,  etc.

Of course there are third party apps like Google Maps, 1Password and many others in that list.

    Funny!

    Cheers
Your iPhone 5 is only 32 bit, thus, you only get the 32 bit binaries downloaded, if I recall how app thinning works correctly.

Also, chances are you are not getting iOS 11 to run on the 5.
