    Sequoia would get my vote.
Given the amount of attention the Macintosh gets these days from Apple, I was thinking Death Valley.

How about an updated Mac mini? And please do not seal this one shut.

  • Sony buys controlling stake in EMI for $2.3B to become world's largest music publisher

What has happened to Sony since Akio Morita is so sad. The company once stood for forward thinking, innovation, quality and now they are just another conglomerate trying to squeeze out a steady profit. Steve Jobs long admired Sony under Morita and the company used to supply Apple with displays back in CRT days.

Sony long strived to keep fresh eyes and intentionally avoided hiring the same type of grads as the other Japanese companies- looking not for Tokyo University conformists, but the bright young minds that were just as smart but far less conformist. Morita famously asked a Conductor to evaluate the sound quality of a new product and when he savaged it, he was invited into Sony to work with the engineers to improve the musicality of the sound.

That was a long time ago and I sometimes wonder if Apple is on the same glide path under Cook.

  • Apple's North Carolina 'Triangle' campus a 'done deal' if legislation passes

You guys are rich. You obviously have no idea what the Research Triangle was, is and was built for, or who lives here. Three major research universities within 25 miles of each other, IBM for 50 years, Cisco, GSK R&D until recently, the EPA for 45 years and about 200 tech/research/CRO companies with about 50,000-75,000 employees. HIghest concentration of PhDs in the country, all because of the research concentration.

"Way back in 2001" - funny. This has been here since the '60s. We have built exactly what we wanted, and it's not some tiny economy or low income.
Democrat Luther Hodges is widely credited with advancing and establishing the Research Triangle Park. He saw textiles and tobacco were nothing with a bright future. Working with the private sector, they established the park in 1959 and it has blossomed to become an economic engine for the state.

Apple wants a larger presence in other states because it expands their political influence. If Apple has a huge number of high wage employees in the state, you can bet the farm the Senators and Representstives will be looking out for Apple’s interests. That would include nonsense like bathroom bills.

  • Apple in conversations with Goldman Sachs to launch Apple Pay branded credit card

Not happy about Apple getting into bed with Bankster #1, Government Sachs. I'll spare you the details, but the info is out there for anyone interested.

There are better outfits to deal with.

I would rather Apple set up a Bank as a separate but wholly owned subsidiary. They can then hire people who share the values of the company.
