  • Apple's iPhone 'Do Not Disturb While Driving' feature helping to reduce dangerous habits

If you have CarPlay you can receive and send messages without ever having to take your eyes off the road or hands off of the wheel. In a time where even a cheap car is $20k, including CarPlay should not be that big of a deal.

  • Mac sales return to growth in Q1 amid continued PC market decline

If Apple would release a Workstation Mac I would order/buy it today.
If Apple would release an updated Mac mini that is not a sealed shut box, I would order/buy it today.

Mac sales will get better when Apple gets serious about something other than iMacs and Laptops.

Some of us want a headless Mac that has decent specs, can be upgraded and does not cost a King's Ransom.

  • Apple picks Oliver Schusser to head up Apple Music worldwide

As someone who buys music using iTunes and has no intention of ever renting Beats Rental Rap d.b.a Apple Music, please ask him to take away the constant nags for Apple music when I try to play my content on my iPhone.

    Do not have Apple Music
Do not intend to have Apple Music.
Do not want anything to do with rental music.
Do not want anything to do with Beats or it's offspring.

The biggest waste of $3 Billion I can think of by a public company.

  • Apple's success has generated hundreds of billions of dollars, but not many billionaires

Apple was also founded in the mid 1970’s which was a very different time for tech and investment.

People like myself, who invested in Apple after the return of Steve Jobs but before success became obvious, have done very well. I started buying Apple stock right after the release of the OS X Public Beta. Those shares split 2-1 and then 7-1 later, so 1 share then is 14 now without dividend reinvestment.
I stopped buying new shares in the low-mid $300/share range before the 7-1 split.

When I got home with the Public Beta and installed it- bugs and all- on my Mac, I knew Apple had a winning product if they kept pushing.

I’ll never be a billionaire, but there are many like me who will retire very well because we got on the train before most of the crowd. If you go to the shareholders meeting you can meet quite a few ordinary people who have done very well by betting on Apple early. I also had the good fortune to buy Amazon stock when the financial papers were constantly griping about Bezos growing the company rather than chasing profitability.

  • Apple modular Mac Pro launch coming in 2019, new engineering group formed to guarantee fut...

So I guess is the new joke is ‘how many years does it take Apple to change a lightbulb?”

The other takeaway is that the meeting where they leaked the Black iMac was a ruse to quell discontent among the screwed over Mac Pro user base. Apparently they were hoping the hopped up iMac would shut people up- they had nothing if they are just now hiring.

Other than EFI, there is not a whole lot of difference between any whitebox PC and a Mac. We do not need Jony’s Stylings or some modular thing with proprietary connectivity that locks us into a dungeon of Apple’s capricious and fickle product plans. An updated Cheesegrater would be just fine- something capable of using standard cards, memory, etc.

l would be willing to bet that if Apple asked H-P to market a Mac version of it’s workstations they could have product ready to ship before WWDC. Apple needs to decide if they want to make computers or just be a lifestyle brand selling phones.
