  • Samsung reports Q1 mobile profits just 24% of Apple's

So AI is writing about Samsung to deflect from Apple's meh quarter? Let's face it the sentiment on Apple right now is certainly not bullish. And Tim Cook and Apple PR have never been good at changing narratives. I hate when my Twitter feed is full of pro-Apple writers/bloggers tweeting about other companies products (like the new all metal Retina display chrome book from HP that starts at $499. I hope Apple has some big surprises to announce at WWDC.
Apple just made $14 BILLION in operating profit this quarter.

It was only seen as a 'bad' quarter because of last years ridiculous numbers. That's it.

Apple made $14 billion in operating profit Jan-March. Three months.
Google made $10 billion in Oct-March. Six months.

Yet Google is worth $50 billion more than Apple sans cash.

Just to put into perspective how ridiculously great Q2 2015 was last year:

Apple made $18.3 BILLION in operating profit in Q2 2015
Google only made $19.6 BILLION in operating profit for the ENTIRE 2015!!!
In ONE QUARTER Apple almost made as much operating profit as Google for the ENTIRE YEAR.
That quarter was just utterly ridiculous as far as profits.

    iPhone sales down
    Mac sales down
    iPad sales down
Still no reporting on the appleWatch

    This WAS a disappointing quarter.

Next quarter will be worse: people will flock to the iPhone SE which will drop margins and turnover

BTW: How gloating were you last year for what you say now was an abnormal quarter.
Can't have it both ways, can you?
Oh yes, you sog, you can!

I'm pretty sure I have more than half a brain. Mac and iPad sales both also fell year over year, and by considerable amounts. It's a disappointing quarter.
Mac is being canibalzied by iPad and iPhone. Come on dude. Mac is not the future of Apple. Everyone knows PC sales are going into the tank.

iPad is getting canibalized by bigger iPhones.

Just look at total revenue in Q2 2014 vs Q2 2016.

Don't compare Q2 2015. That was an anamoly year.  The iPhone6 had THREE YEARS of pent up demand.  Impossible for Apple to match that.

If you compare 2016 to 2014 Apple grew revenue 12%.  That is not disappointing at all.
    Yes it is.

And, er... what's canibalizing the bigger iPhones?

I guess Apple'll will have to pay what the French lawmaker tells them to pay up. Actually, Apple was never forced to sell phones in France...
Do you even know what the hell you''re talking about, go back to voting for Sanders. And yes, I know France a lot, lived there for more than a decade; it's dysfunctional economic basket case that makes the US looks good (because they're worse, not because the US is tops).
Sorry, what's your point? That the French need to change their laws to comply to Apple's contracts?

'Take it or leave it' is not exactly negotiable.
That's how it is if you have a desirable product, you say sign here, or walk away.
This is the kind of thing that makes France the economic laughing stock of Europe.

When you have The EU wanting to take back tax breaks one of their members have given willingly, you can see why the EU is also losing its shine.
Never heard of illegal clauses in a contract?

    These 10 clauses have a
    1) a direct effect on the margin of the operator
    2) has an effect on the supply chain of the operator
    3) has a clause in it for a tax evasion scheme of Apple's

    ...

    without Apple committing to anything.

Every contract in the EU must show "fairness", i.e. that neither partner was really put under pressure to sign (free will).
This contract shows that we're far off free will.

There are laws in this part of the world. Better stick to it, pay a fine if you broke the law, or walk away.

France, put energy in fixing terrorist problem from illegal immigration than going after companies who gives some jobs in country and hurt/kill no one. Moreover, all business by it's legal structure and obligation to it's shareholders act different than non-profit organization.
US Deaths by terrorist attacks: 2997
France Deaths by terrorist attacks: 142

    Right!

PS: you might also take the trouble and compare deaths by gunfire or police kills or ...
