Apple calls iPhone X preorders 'off the charts' after rapid sellouts
But what about iPhone 8 sales??
Gotta love how the press and even Wall Street freaked over punk sales when it pretty obvious that people were/are holding off any purchase till the X is out. And gotta love how little facts and accuracy matter to the media in this era of of the paramount priority of just spewing crap and spewing it fast.

Pundits believe Apple's Jony Ive no longer involved in iPhone, Mac product design [u]
Since modern reportage features among other things amnesia of anything that happened before, let me just note that there've been rumors of Ive leaving for a couple of years now. Not that I know anything, my guess is that he'll leave eventually, but there's no reason to think the time is now. Indeed, Gruber makes it pretty clear. And speaking of Gruber, as he alludes in his piece (but doesn't make clear), he is not a particularly articulate speaker, and that inability is what started this whole idiocy. (Confession: I'm no better, so it's not a criticism, just a fact, noted. As he implied -- and the reason for the post -- is that he writes clearer than he speaks.) -
WaterproofGate: Samsung's high end Galaxy S7 fails Consumer Reports tests
Because this is now(-ish) and Samsung’s Korean -- which is to say psychopathic people in psychopathic times -- one must wonder whether the tests that established that Samsung met the standards hadn’t used rigged devices while stupid Consumer used phones they bought theirselves like any normal consumer would. The alternative is that Consumer obtained -- randomly -- only defective devices. I know where I'd place my money. -
Apple's use of web carousels target of new patent lawsuit
It's early, and my brain hasn't fully fired up, so....
I don't remember when Apple started using carousels -- when the iOS App store got redesigned? At some version of iTunes? But what I wonder is: When is he going to go after Amazon? Unlike Apple, where a carousel was part of an app one had to dig for, more or less, Amazon used the exact same thing as the main interface in their forked Android tablets. Prominent and a feature they boasted of.
So when's Amazon getting their turn (no pun)?
