  • Mockups of 'iPhone 12' demonstrate flat sides and smaller dimensions

Hopefully ‘unobstructed’ 1080 or higher playback on the displays of all models.

  • EU lawmakers snub Apple's pleas, overwhelmingly vote to push for charging cable standard

Standardize your darn outlets first. Anyone who travels throughout Europe and Asia knows what I’m talking about l. I need to keep a bag full of adapters and a converters with me - talk about waste.

  • Neil Young rails against 'Fisher-Price' MacBook Pro audio for music production

I use a Mac for music creation - but like most musicians - do not use the internal DACs for recording or playback. I leave that important task to external pro audio level devices/interfaces. I like Neil Young (and his hi-resolution hearing), and as a musician myself I respect his quest for the highest quality audio formats. However I would say his efforts would be better spent advocating multichannel audio than higher sample and bit rates. For example, I’d rather experience listening to a new band’s recording in a high quality surround sound format with a speaker and decoding system that reproduces it than the same recording in a stereo-only ULTRA high quality format. Omni directional speakers and object based formats are more exciting to me. Legacy recordings were nearly all recorded in stereo, the future should embrace support for multi channel recording and playback. Regardless, It all starts with the original recording format and engineering.

  • Rosenblatt hikes its bearish AAPL price target, but not because of the iPhone

Apple is covering all bases in 2020 - and will fill gaps in demand for certain products at certain price points - with lower priced handsets on one end of the product mix to cutting edge Pro models at the top - something for everyone. Their biggest threat is the Chinese subsidized phones - where State backed companies will operate at a loss and ‘do the impossible’ ... produce low price phones with expensive pro features.

  • Foxconn pledges 2020 production in troubled Wisconsin factory

This is how it works - Tesla opens a factory in China it’s up and running in a year, we hand them all our technology, the plans to build the most advanced electric car and provide jobs and training to hundreds of Chinese. Foxconn ‘promises’ to create a factory and jobs in the US to do the same to build the most advanced chips and electronic products. Years later nothing has been accomplished - no jobs, no transfer of knowledge. It will never happen. That’s how the Chinese operate, they take but don’t give / contracts are one-sided, I’ve dealt with them firsthand with companies in Shandong and Shanghai ... it’s brutal. Mark my word we will all be driving Chinese cars (knock off Teslas) and using Chinese smart phones (knock off iPhones) in five years. The theft is already happening and the products are already being manufactured. Once we lose that technical knowledge the US is doomed... we’ll be a nation of (synthetic Chinese meat) hamburger flippers... and plummet into poverty.
