Apple might debut first in-house modem in 2021 as it questions Intel's ability to deliver ...
Thank you Intel for inventing the microprocessor, but your moment in the sun is done. You’ve held back innovation in the industry in the 80s and 90s. No more monopolies to rely on, you’ve lost your edge. Your power hungry CISC chips (with built-in pathetic GPUs) are no longer welcome in this modern age. Complacency kills. It’s a shame - blame the greedy executives that run the company - they should all be canned. -
Editorial: Why Apple isn't 'slashing prices' in China
“Yujing Zhang, who said she was headed to the pool at Mar-a-Lago on Saturday, was carrying four phones, two Chinese passports, a laptop, hard drive and a USB stick loaded with malicious software. She didn't have a swimsuit.” Recent article ... Another Zhang ... LOL

Editorial: Why Apple isn't 'slashing prices' in China
State subsidies is why Chinese handset manufacturers can sell similar (or better ) spec’d phones at one third the price. In a non-communist society, these companies would be bankrupt if they did not have that support. The China 2025 strategy is to own the world’s top technology and to never again depend on any other nation. They are using the same strategy in the data center, electric cars, telecom and airlines. They are willing to take massive losses in the short term to destroy the competition. There will be no other choices left (and innovation will die along with it). Manufacturing has already disappeared in many countries. Intellectual property has already been stolen - with no penalty. How can Apple or any other company or nation compete with that? The only edge Europe and America has over China is their ability to be truly creative and innovative, traits nearly impossible to steal or replicate - but is that enough? -
Apple cancels AirPower wireless charging mat, citing quality issues
The emperor has no clothes - Charging pads are an inefficient means of charging that solves only a slight inconvenience in certain use cases. I would be fine with Apple removing the heavy, space wasting components from my phone. The only reason Apple added this feature is for feature parity with Android phones. In my mind, a mistake. Hopefully this feature will be excluded in the next generation or two. Those upset about this cancellation should buy the plentiful slow, hot running, electricity wasting knockoff versions - I bought one for $30 - it works, but I rarely use it.
