  • Warren Buffett has sold a lot of Apple stock so far in 2024

Since 2012, Apple has bought back shares worth $674.9 billion, mostly at a price well below where it’s currently trading, so in retrospect it looks like a pretty good use of the funds
Buying back shares was a terrible use of funds. Apple could have invested in AI like Microsoft or bought shares in MS as the company is performing way better than Apple under Tim Cook. Bought a car manufacturer to actually deliver a car instead of dreaming it and enter the huge market for car financing and services. Even Ford is doing hands off driving something Apple failed to do. How is that possible? Apple could have bought TSMC instead of letting them grow to the point were Nvidia, AMD, Qualcomm, and Intel now all use TSMC. Apple spent a decade as a client investing in output not in control.

Buying back stocks is a lack of faith in the innovation and business model. Apple should do stuff. Instead Tim Cook has decided to sell products at inflated prices, crawl forward, and return most to share holders. That is how tobacco companies and banks operate.
Thanks for your business insights which are all woulda, shoulda, coulda ideas from someone who has no clue what Apple is up to. For that matter none of us do.

  • Pennsylvania has two battling bills that could make tracking with AirTags unlawful

Of course stalkers, wife beaters and other nefarious characters will obey. This is like expecting criminals not to use guns.

  • GM's CarPlay replacement doesn't work well, and has a long road ahead of it

Another point is people will be bamboozled into buying a car with Ultifi (sad attempt to ride on the coattails of Unifi) by a salesmen implying it is better than CarPlay with all of the same functionality and it will work perfectly. Worse will be the salesman who does not even know what CarPlay is or misleads the buyer into thinking it is CarPlay. I am referring to regular users of the iPhone who have no interest other than it working.

Darin Gesse is straight up out of his mind, but that is ok for me as I would never buy a GM or any American car (nor a Mercedes). Trying to justify this by saying only hard-core Apple users will be affected is absurd, but one can dream and justify their existence as a company.

To a degree I feel sorry for them they have decided to pigeon hole themselves into something that has no chance of working. Check with Toyota and other late adopters how well that went for them. Additionally people know the interface as it is in nearly every car made. It is as if they want to sell fewer cars.

  • Browser developers gripe about Apple promoting them in the EU

    The EU is terrible.

They regulate everything out to oblivion.

    Really bad =/
They have to because they are a zero in the tech world and this is the way a child would level the playing field. Best is irrelevant when someone is pushing mediocre. I really wish Apple would give away Apple Music until Spotify is pummeled into oblivion. They may have follow some rules in the EU, but giving something is not outlawed yet.
